I've lived here over 23 years, that shed has lived through some serious shit. Remember the derecho? The roof got half blown off once, but that's all. A worthy risk.I believe I would be more worried about that shed getting blown down onto my truck in heavy winds. That corner support seems a bit skimpy.
Yeah, on first blush, it looks sketchy as anything but you’d be surprised at how little it takes to hold things together.I believe I would be more worried about that shed getting blown down onto my truck in heavy winds. That corner support seems a bit skimpy.
That looks pretty cool, but I think I'll take my chances and not deal with where I am going to store something like that. Hail storms can pop up any time so you have to know when to deploy it. Today's forecast was a rare time when hail was a definite maybe.Never seen one, and I’m certainly not endorsing or recommending it, but things like this are available.

Also, when we first moved in, it was just a free-standing shed with no floor. We had a cement floor poured that encompassed all existing uprights, so I think that helped strenghten it.Yeah, on first blush, it looks sketchy as anything but you’d be surprised at how little it takes to hold things together.
I’ve been up at the cottage for the past two months without a garage or any covered parking for my Ranger - damn weather report keeps calling for the possibility of hail about every second week. It’s never come to be.That looks pretty cool, but I think I'll take my chances and not deal with where I am going to store something like that. I hear ya! But being on a hill on the east side of the Blue Ridge Mtns., we don't get hail without signifcant wind, so trying to cover a vehicle like that would be a waste of time.I’ve been up at the cottage for the past two months without a garage or any covered parking for my Ranger - damn weather report keeps calling for the possibility of hail about every second week. I have moving blankets, tarps, a half dozen painting drop cloths, and a crap ton of cardboard from appliances and furniture at any given time (renovating) but all I can think of is, if it starts, I don’t want to be out there throwing all that on my truck while being pelted with hail, and it’s more likely I’d be WOT to the coin-op car wash or nearest gas station canopy.
Ya gotta do what ya gotta do! I got caught in hail twice before this in the Ranger in traffic, and it was not good for my nerves. Luckily no damage. When I heard the recent forecast and with plans to travel, fuck the mower!Mine isn't as picturesque as yours, but I was able to get all the to back rear glass under my deck, with just the bed out. Got a little gnarly here, but the hail was light and not damaging.
