Thank you for the pics and info. More reforcement why I'll never order a vehicle. I'm a gotta see it before I buy it guy. That said, if the price is right, I'd roll it. Noone is gonna see the roof anyway.

Unpopular opinion coming.

Doesn’t look like too big of a deal to me. If it is in fact cosmetic (looks to be), I think leaving it alone would be the safer option. Gettin into Headliners, airbags seems like a mess. You’ll never see the roof and won’t notice it. Maybe ask for an appropriate discount and consider doing some kind of light touch repair with part of the cash.
For what its worth, I think this is a good idea - the only question is what is an "appropriate" discount. Given the severity of the dents, I'd say at least a couple grand isn't unrealistic. The fact that they are on the roof is probably the best spot it could be - you'll never see them unless you go looking for them. And a good PDR person can do miracles - I'll bet they can probably get most of those out.

If you move forward with repairs, it will be interesting to see how well they blend in the Azure Gray Metallic. Supposedly, it's one of the tougher paint colors to work with....but of course, it is the BEST color.

I also didn't realize the Tremor has ridges in the roof, unlike my XLT that is smooth.

Hey Robert,

It’s not a Tremor thing. I’m pretty sure the ”ridges” in the roof are on all SuperCrews for rigidity but are not needed on the shorter SuperCab roof. Another member suggested they were for airflow. Maybe someone has the definitive answer for why they’re on Screws and not Scabs.

This is pretty much where I am at. I love the truck, this color is great, and its not like (at this point) I can get another one. Due to my past history with this dealership, I am trusting they will repair it right... and if not... then there will be more discussion. Their shop has a good reputation around here (for a dealership). Being on the roof is a huge plus as far as location, unless there is more "structural" damage. Interior and door seams all look fine.

Thanks again to all for the input / opinions / information. I will keep the thread updated with how this process plays out.

One thing that is bumming me out right now is holding off on modifications. I have plans...

I don't know what full price is, but I would personally ask for 5k off for that, no repairs. I'd tell them that and start walking. This economy is about to crash and these dealers are going to get stuck with a lot of inventory.

Maybe in your negotiations, you could have the dealership add one of these? :like:

Something like this would be the route I would take. It's a Tremor after all and it would look right at home up there. The dealership should have no issue buying a nice rack and installing it plus discount some for the damage . It would be interesting to know what their body shop estimate to do the repair would be then you could negotiate from there.

As far as not buying a special order vehicle and picking one off the lot to not go through this , nothing assures you that the ones on the lot have just simply not been repaired already, lol.

That sucks for sure. I'm with the folks that would try to negotiate the biggest discount and move on. The only time I would ever see the roof of mine was when I was on a step ladder to wash it.

I would think no repairs = no Carfax report also

If you do have it repaired because you absolutely have to have this truck AND you are going to put a roof rack on it you could possibly make it easier and more unique to have it painted carbonized gray so it is similar to what they are doing on the Maverick Tremor with the graphics package. No worries in blending and would be unique. Just a thought.

What this really comes down to is if an insurance claim is filed and diminished value comes into play. What would that difference be.
Seeing you have the truck I would visit a few PDR shops and get their opinions on damage and repairability along with a rough guess to repair. If dealer is going to bang out and bondo it out then walk.

See where I’m going with this? Let guys that do these repairs for a living deal with it. Dealer will do anything for the sale and try to make as much profit from it possible. Keeping it in their own shop allows more room to squeeze that out.
