Congrats on your new Ranger! I do agree with Robert @NotBudule that I would take it as is and detail it yourself. Not because of the waiting (that's a killer too) but because it'll get done right by doing it yourself. It'll also give you a chance to go over every inch of it and see if there's any factory blemishes. While not every dealership is bad it seems most can't PDI and detail it right and me being OCD, I'd rather do it myself.
I understand that, but driving truck and being out 2-3 weeks at a time and only getting to be home for 2-3 days, time gets limited when you have a laundry list of things needing to be done before leaving back out to do more trucking. When I get back home and pick it up I will spend a little time with it and going over it!

I’m confused though. Both trucks in the pics are FX4 stickered but yours doesn’t have a front skid plate. Or it’s painted red?
Hope this view helps! You can kinda see skid plates under the 20 I am driving and my new 22

Congrats! Anderson Ford in Lincoln......they'll do a good job for ya! Where I got mine! Good folks there!
Yeah Terry has treated me good through out the whole process of first ordering a Maverick and then changing to a Ranger.

My Ranger finally arrived July 29th. I ordered Feb 28th. Signed the papers just this last Friday. So happy and excited first ever brand new vehicle and I absolutely love the truck! I have to wait till next weekend to pick it up, because they still have to detail it.

the other one clearly has a color matched skidplate, and its plated and looks like someone driving it already

*apparently the OP was driving it as indicated later
So yeah the full quick story is I own an 01 F150 and it is approaching 300k miles and I ordered a Maverick in Dec, get an email from Ford saying to get my Maverick built I need to delete some options for a better chance of getting built or it might not get built for the 22MY. After some serious contemplating and talking to my salesman the Ranger would most likely be a better fit, plus I have wanted one since the brought them back out, so placed my order for the Ranger in Feb. Well the 01 F150 getting long in the tooth decided it wad not going to wait till the new one arrived, besides the heater core taking a complete dump in March and Transmission starts acting up in April and still no build date on Maverick or Ranger and had a couple out of town trips to make memorial weekend and towards the end of June and a camping trip up to Minnesota for the Scamp campers homecoming rally at the end of July, I needed a vehicle. So Andersons had this used 20 and it checked all the major boxes of my wants, supercrew, Fx4, Red, tow package, spray in bedliner, XLT, so I figured if I do get stuck with it, it does cover my most basic wants and I am happy with the 20, but if I can still get my 22 I ordered awesome! So we hammered out a deal and the 22 is now mine! If anyone is looking for a used 20 it will be at Anderson Ford of Lincoln next weekend lol

Congrats! These Rangers are great and this forum has a wealth of info to get the most out of your Ranger!

Edit: Expect the tailgate damper crowd to pester you about one.
Congratulations! Your truck looks great, detailing or not! It will be a long week but worth the wait and then some!

Edit: Expect the anti-tailgate damper crowd to pester you about one.

I totally agree. Never had any dealership do either to my satisfaction. I never let them wash my truck either after servicing cause it’s a crummy job

I totally agree. I don’t think I have every had any dealership do either right.

Enjoy your new truck! I'm gonna warn ya...most here won't. Don't get freaked out after driving or taking a double take after parking. You may not recognize yourself. Be prepared for that never ending smile!

Congratulations on you new truck.

With your work schedule, you might want to consider a battery tender.

I have noticed when I drive my truck infrequently (I also don’t get a ton of freeway miles when I do drive it, which is a major factor in this decision), the battery management software, tends to leave the battery a little discharged. Then the spool down after you shut off, takes more battery charge. All the above tends to leave your battery a little discharged and over say a few years can lead to a shortened battery life.

If when you are home and driving it, you get out and drive on the super slab some, it may not be an issue for you.

Good luck with you new truck.
