Is a 10,000 mile oil change interval ideal for the 2.3L?

Not angry. Just don't understand how people invest so heavily in their idea of how something works without actually researching or thinking through their point.

My 13 year old daughter was just able to look at my app and decifer when it thinks I need an oil change. It's not rocket surgery.

I am currently on a road trip (truck running awesome especially on 93 ethanol free gas…and Amsoil! ?) and I’ve noticed the OLM goes down 1% for every 100 miles.

Still getting used to my new Ranger and the dealer told me the oil change interval is "up to 10,000 miles" for the 2.3L EcoBoost engine on Ford Synthetic Blend oil. My previous GMC 6.2L called for a 7,500 mile oil change interval and according to the Blackstone lab reports I've done on it, with the OLM at 20-25%, it shows there's plenty of TBN left in the oil (the first short change was due to driving a company vehicle, so I zeroed out the meter due to lack of use, not engine hours or mileage).

Since the 2.3L seems to rev higher and work "harder" than the 6.2L would a shorter (such as 7,500 mile) oil change interval on Motorcraft Synthetic Blend be ideal? Or should I just stick to the oil life monitor?

Best move is to just follow the recommended maintenance schedule. Anything beyond that is just more money out of your pocket. I drive mixed on-/off-road so I target 5000 miles according to the spec.

I run a 10k mile interval on my Jetta that has been commuting in stop and go traffic 5 days a week since 2016 and it still runs beautifully.

When I had Amsoil in my ranger I noticed it went down 1% for the very 100 miles.
Last week had an oil change and decided to try Castrol Edge for kicks. It’s gone down 2% already and I have t even gone 80 miles. Hmmm…. Maybe it does know oil brands! ?

drive it until the engine seizes then change the oil... that's my plan and it has worked on every car before. I can usually get about 80k out of them

My OLM went off at 7.5k for an oil change. Ford dealer did last oc using full syn and a 910s.
Below is my current OLM ready with 422 on oil . Pennzoil platinum 5w30 and a fram xg filter 400s equivalent.

The closer you get to zero on the OLM the more accurate it becomes.

German manuf European 0w30 Castrol edge always gave me the worst numbers from Blackstone ..

My uncle would trade his Chevy's in every 5 years, never once changed the oil. Probably 50to60k on the oil
