Same issue, but on drivers side. I blame the use environmental friendly paints. The 79 T bird had cracked rear glass that was held in place due to the defrost lines (slight fish story).

All rust starts out as surface rust . Clean and coat with por 15 or something similar. Then move out of NY.

Oil change and tire rotation. Had to break out the old KD filter wrench. Found out the ranger had zero zerks. 6.5 qts 5w30 Pennzoil and a M1-209A filter. 8600 on this one with 11% life left.

Run a bolt with C5A into the hole and leave it in place.

My did it with a 80s (maybe 84) era Econoline think it was inline 6. We used a ball valve to control speed with a 100lb propane tank strapped behind the drivers seat. Looking back was not the safest thing to do.

Don't know if this is still the case, but new a guy who's car ran off propane while he was stationed over in Italy. I'm guessing mid 80s.
