Retired, work is a four letter word.
As long as the stitching matches, have her make two! I am in the East Bay and will gladly pay for a new boot. Not $35 for another Ford one though.
She has an old Singer straight stitch 15N machine just for leather and larger thread, these were used in shoe & boot repair shops.

Well, you all got me thinking so I went out in the garage and looked at my 10 month old park brake boot, and sure as hell it has a crack already, Really!! Ford, you can't use something better than pleather! Good thing my wife is very crafty (in more ways than one) as I showed it to her and her response was "No big deal, I can make that, with better material". She does have 3 sewing machines and an entire room dedicated as her 'Craft Room'. She makes some great stuff.
The question is...how difficult is it to remove the old one and install a replacement?

If she can put these together, you have a sizeable market already awaiting you.

Sign me up for one.

Yup, just checked mine. It has a growing split at the crease. Bummer.

Well made it past 1 yr and now I have cracks.
Found these leather replacements - $65. They don't have a stitching pattern that exactly matches ours. There is one seam behind the handle and 2 under it. Would probably talk to them about that prior to ordering.

Easy Pleasey.

Just pull up the base, start at rear and go counter clockwise. There are plastic clips holding it in, then pull off the handle.

No tools needed, but a non maring interior tool could help. Pretty easy to do.

Well Ford said no to them sending it to an upholstery shop and want to replace it with OEM... ? Not sure if Ford started making them out of better materials or not but I may still go and see what they would want to make them and go from there.

Ok.. ok… ok… now I feel like I’ve gotten a bad tomato here with leather on my truck.

The leather or (pleather) wrapped parking break handle has now started to chip/ scratch and I can now see a small tear or rip no where near the stitching but towards the butt end by the arm rest.

Anyone else seen this happen.. have had it happen.. what the actual fu..

FORD is killing me lately.

I am interested in one as well. Located in NorCal like yourself.
