I noticed a small tear on the boot, has anyone experienced this?

There is a whole thread already dedicated to this. Take it to the dealer and see if they will fix it.

Does anyone know what determines the emergency brake location. Foot or hand?

Jimmy designed it for the F150....he had a broken right arm at the time. so he went with a foot brake.
Tommy designed the ranger, and he is a ex rattle snake wrestler. His leg suffered irreparable tissue damage after a particularly bad tag team match and he opted for the hand brake,
Phil was just plane badass....he opted for no brakes at all...just a big fat go fast pedal. He retired much to the happiness of the current president.
Thanks for the history on that. Makes total sense.

I wish they would put it back on the kick panel. Itā€™s a colossal waste of space in an already-cramped console.

i actually find it convenient....my wallet sits in the space between nicely. All those maxed out credit cards make it the right thickness to fit firmly, but not too tight.
I've already tried using it for that but unfortunately my wallet slips through and drops down between the seat and the console bottom. The handle should be adjustable, side to side, for different wallet thicknesses.

I guess I'm old school. I really like the handbrake where it is.

On my 2011 Mustang GT, I replaced the cracked shift boot.
www.redlinegoods.com you can order a customized LEATHER shift and/or brake boot.
Iā€˜ll change out my Ranger too, when ready.

looks good. I checked their website and doesnā€™t look like they make boots for the new ranger...any word on that?

I emailed them and they want me to send mine in to use as a template. Anybody know how to remove the existing boot? I haven't taken a close look at it yet to see how simple pulling it off might be.

Iā€™m sure someone will chime in on removal. Definitely interested in ordering one from them once they get the template cut. I just went out to look at mine and no tears but still a little surprised to see just how crappy that material is.
