I have not been under my truck yet to see the design (have only had it 2 months)...is the drain plug accessible without removing any of the plates? Could you post a link to which Fumoto valve set up you purchased? Thanks!
Crawl on under and experience the awesomeness!

Drain plug is accessible however when you take it out oil drains all over the skid plate, unless you remove it first

A couple of bolts and loosen a couple and it’s out. No big deal.

The fumoto valve is awesome. I don't leave the hose on, just pop it on when I do the oil. It has two "safeties" on it to prevent accidental opening.

No more removing the skidplate to do the oil. Add better push-clips to access the oil filter from the wheelwell, and a lift or level kit negating the need for a jack and oil changes are the easiest I've ever done!

In the past I always used oil drain bolts but often I ran out of crush washers so didn't replace them. And I'd get slow leaks. Now I don't have to worry about that either.

Why bother if you don’t have to. Besides with the plug being sideways, you pull it out and oil shoot all over everything.

Just put a valve on with a hose. No more removing skid plate, no mess, no more dealing with crush washers, no more worrying about stripping plug. Best of everything.

There is a lot of talk on here about oil drain valves. I want to talk about oil drain hoses. Most people buy these for on boats because they cannot reach under and drain oil into a pan on a lot of boats. Replacing your drain plug with a permanent hose with a cap on the end that you can route to the side of your truck and uncap to drain oil. Wouldn’t it make oil draining easy? People safely relocate their filters with hoses air the time, why not the drain plug? Any thoughts?
So if you can't access the drain plug easily on your truck then maybe you need to take it somewhere else to have the oil changed. The only reason you would have trouble is if you installed skid plates on the ranger. Other than that it's pretty easy to get to

I've got the valve on mine with a hose attached to it that's long enough to go just inside my drain pan. Only messy part, for me, is draining the filter and I'm going to find a hose large enough to fit over the drain trough and route it down to a pan.
I've also added magnets to the plastic frame cover so I don't have to mess with those damn fasteners.

I am too freakin old to crawl under anything  Thanks for the links. I have a Fumoto on another vehicle and thought I would put one on here to make it easier at the Dealership (so they don't need to remove the skid plate/ or make a mess). Just to clarify; you can reach the Fumoto valve to attach the hose, operate the valve without removal of any skid plates or covers? Thanks a bunch!:like:

Another vote for Valvomax here. So much cleaner. Won't go back to a traditional oil change again.

I have the Funmoto valve with a rubber hose attached to it. I put the hose into a kitty litter bottle an drain it. Put the cap on it an take it to be recycled without spilling a drop. I put a bolt in the hose in case the valve ever does leak for peace of mind an lay it on the skid plate until next time. I got rid of those annoying push pin things holding the fender liner in place hiding the oil filter an put some strong magnets on for quick easy access.

Retired, work is a four letter word.
I have the Fumoto valve with a capped 18" hose coiled up on the inside of the skid pkate, pull it out and insert into oil container, turn valve on and presto, oil drained. As for the fender skirt I replaced the stupid plastic screw in single use retaiers with JB welded rivet nuts and thumb screws.

Does everyone jack up their truck or are they lifted enough? My running boards are in the way and it’s too hard to reach without jacking.

Here is another option if you don't want to crawl under the truck. These work pretty well and let you extract oil through the dipstick tube.
