Looks Good, but just curious without physically looking at the Pan.
Are the external grid lines - (omitted at that spot) or did you have to level them off with a die grinder?

Also, for those that want to do this (mod) what drill size for the hole?
airline tech, I used a 1/2" drill bit to drill the hole, then used a Dremel Tool to smooth out the honey comb portion of the exterior pan to allow the nut to seat properly. -I drilled from the inside out so that I could get the true center position. The nut fit snuggly, as I intended, but I would warn others to not make it an overly snug fit. I'd tend to think that any excess stress of cranking it into place might also risk cracking the pan, so just make the fit one that's beyond finger tightening in order to seat it in place..

Our trans pans are plastic! The Ford service manual says to replace it with a fluid change. They’re not very expensive ether. Putting a drain hole in it that’s not reenforced with a plug will probably lead to bigger problems. If I were to upgrade I would ditch the plastic once and for all, get the metal with drain plugs as a bonus and call it a day.

Probably just me but a plastic pan is not what I think is a good design. Especially if you off-road. Heck just junk on the highway or streets is a gamble!
Totally agree. I'm wondering
If any company has come up with a skid plate for the transmission pan yet that protects both my transmission pan and my wallet.

In my humble opinion, based on my "typical" driving routine, statistical probability, and the simple fact that I have yet to hear of a single report of anyone taking a direct hit from a rock, (or whatever), I just can't justify in my mind pulling the trigger on the PSE pan... Yeah, I agree it's nicer, looks great and is better, but so would the addition of an actual Power Steering Pump, & Tranny Dip Stick. Some things are just beyond logic in costs, although when it comes to modifications, apparently anything goes as long as it can be properly rationalized. Just like the $250 Turbo Blow Off Valve (BOV) on the market. I've heard all the arguments... "But the stock unit only has a plastic relief piston!" -- I created a DIY BOV for under $15 and am perfectly content with it. Maybe I'm just an old fart, but $200 for this and $250, for that? Yeah, no... I've seen as many Ranger's on the side of the road with a blown out BOV as I have with Ranger's having a hole in the Tranny Pan so far, which is zero in 5 years. Trouble is, if you run the list of all of the things that you could improve on the Ranger and convince yourself you just simply cannot live without (regardless of the price), you could smoke an endless amount of cash in the blink of an eye. (My Opinion Only)

I agree, but what's this about an 'actual power steering pump'. The electric power steering (no pump needed) is fine. Everything else engine related stays stock for me.

I haven't had a problem with it other than when the alternator failed in a transit I drove delivering parts in an it was very hard to steer. I've seen bronco off road recovery videos of them struggling to get them to move in the right direction to line up with the recovery vehicle. I don't recall what knocked engine power out but it's rough to move the wheels.
