Hard to say that. For many things, the Ford performance option IS the aftermarket version with the FP label, meaning that Ford approves of that design. Then sticks the FP label on it and charge you double or triple the price.
Yep, and they are the top of the trust list with my $ for aftermarket. Especially the tune.

I didn't know Ford made these! I just ordered mine (M-6766-B23 ) on the Ford Performance site. With my rewards points and the discount code it came to $79!! I can't wait to install it and have one more thing to maintain! :p But the benefits of reducing carbon build up on the valves will be worth it.
Before you start your install check that lower hose. If its P/N ends with B23L, do not install. Call Ford Performance for the R23L hose. Neither kit Ford sells is a direct fit for the 20-23 Ranger. M-6766-B23 as the wrong lower hose and M-6766-R23 has the wrong upper hose.

Update: Ford has added a new part number for the 20-23 Ranger: M-6766-R23A

My hose was wrong, I called and was told to send an email with the info with my receit so thats what I did. Waiting now for a reply, thx

The interval I drain my catch can is about 1200-1500 miles roughly every two weeks right now. I think only draining the FP unit at oil changes is asking for trouble.
I have had my FP oil/air separator installed for six months but nothing is being caught in the reservoir. My 2019 Ranger has the version with the sensor. I live in California - is our warm weather the reason? Or did I install the unit incorrectly?

Okay guys, here's an update on emptying the Ford catch can. I unclipped the 2 hoses and then preceded to empty the can for the first time. So now my curiousity gets the better of me so I remove the allen screws to actually look inside the can instead of blindly dumping it.

It contained a little water and a brown substance on the bottom. Now I know myself, I will never be satisfied to just dump it, so I've decided I will always remove the allen screws to empty the can.
This was after maybe 2000-2500 miles during the summer, I expect more moisture in the winter months. Removing the allen screws is quite easy and you won't break the clips.

On the top of the can is a metal filter/screen that the contaminents flow thru. Its removable and can fit only 1 way. The rest of the can is a hollow plastic/abs looking material

Just cleaned mine out yesterday after 3000 miles which includes a 1800 mile round trip to Reno. No actual water droplets just small amount of oil and water mixture about a teaspoons and a half. Now that snow is on the ground I’ll check it at 1000 mile intervals. I pull out completely then disassemble and clean.
