I know I always joke about it but they do come in handy IF you're someone who uses your bed a lot. Hope your shoulder get better and don't remove that damper because you'll re-injure yourself which could lead to amputation next time.![]()
Your team is going down like a Barrel Full Of Monkeys! ? ???Very few of us pure no damper folks left.

Now, how're you going to lift it up?Last weekend, I decided to climb into the bed using my usual method of grasping the side rail and stepping up onto the rear tire. After shuffling some stuff around, I decided to exit the bed via the tailgate, which was in the fully-upright and latched position. I reached down and unlatched the tailgate. Not wanting it to slam open on the cables (which probably would have survived the impact) I proceeded to lower it gently into the open position. Everything was going well, until a white-hot lightning bolt of pain hit my surgery-needing arthritic shoulder.
So today, I turned-in my Man Card and installed the damper.

Quit candy-coating it and say what you mean! You sissy! Haven't you heard of Aleve? All of us get old, and all of us will sooner or later have a twitch or two. It is life, don't you know!
I know I am. ? J/K I've had shoulder problems and they're not fun!
YOU’RE WORTHLESS AND WEAK!I gotta say, I was so shocked that I nearly followed the tailgate down with my whole body. It would have been a most impressive display in the Home Depot parking lot. I did release it, though, and it slammed down on the cables, mocking me, until I climbed down and closed it forcefully with both hands.
