PMPL - You are my new Internet forum hero - please keep posting stuff like this forever!
Just trying to keep it real before poor Dave is accused of being a crisis actor, planted here by Hugo Chavez in order to force us into vaccinated servitude so Bill Gates can look at our naked baby pictures via the injected micro-chip and bamboo fibers.

I think Dave has done a great service to the entire forum with his honesty and more importantly sharing his real life experience unfiltered. Regardless where you stand on the Covid vaccination issue, the disease kicked his ass. Getting to know his OCD nature on this forum tells me he takes care of himself and my guess is a person not in the same condition would have been in real trouble. My aunt was one of the first people to die of Covid in a nursing home in Seattle in March of 2020. So this topic hits home for me. Personally speaking my whole family and I are vaccinated, not judging anyone who isn’t. Make your own calculation, just listen to real life stories like Dave instead of TV.

Up here in Ontario, they now publish the data on new cases vaxed vs non vaxed. The Delta is now starting to spread and the provincial numbers are rising again. Interesting that about 78% of the cases are non vaxed, single vax or unknown. That means 22% or so are fully vaxed, and they are getting the Delta. The good news is almost all those cases are minor is scope and the symptoms are mild. This virus will mutate and there will be new strains, that could cause even more issues over time, just like the regular influenza virus mutates on a yearly basis. We will likely be getting boosters in the future, and may be getting them for years to come, just something to think about. Whatever your personal opinion on getting vaxed is, that really doesn't matter, but with each mutation this thing is getting a bit nastier and at some point the law of averages will apply and you will catch this, that is how viruses work.
Did you know there is no test for Delta? They just assume if you test positive for covid now it's Delta, and you know what they say about assume.

First I’d like to thank everyone here from the bottom of my heart for all your thoughts and prayers. This really is a very special community and even though many of us have never met it just goes to show how we all come together when another is in need.

I started feeling a little “off” a few days after we returned from vacation but didn’t think much of it. As the week went on I felt worse and went to the Urgent Care to get tested and 2 days latter received the positive Covid results. Last Friday the 13th is when it hit me the hardest and couldn’t do anything but sleep and crawl to the couch. Between the nausea, body aches, sweats and chills I never felt anything this painful in my life. I honestly wouldn’t wish this on my worst enemy! Dr says there’s really nothing you can do but let it run it’s course which is anywhere from 3-4 weeks minimum. Today is day 17 and it feels like I’m on the upside now (?) where I can finally move around without being dizzy and nauseous and finally ate a real meal the other night that wasn’t toast or soup. Doc says this new Delta variant is worse because it stays airborne longer and is highly contagious. I will admit we became very lazy with our mask wearing out here and with our heat it’s easy to do. So just a word of caution for everyone is don’t take this damn virus lightly because no matter how great of shape you’re in it’ll knock you flat out.

Now I do need to go and read the “Where’s Dave thread”. I’ve been well briefed about it and I’m sure I’m in for some good laughs.? You guys and girls are the best and it’s a blessing to be part of such a great group! Thank you for all the messages and text, they really helped get me through all this.

@Chris M said this to me in a text and it was so very true that I hope he doesn't mind that I copied it here..

"Who knew such a wide collection of keyboard warriors could have such tender hearts towards one another"?
I'm dealing with COVID now as well. Was vaccinated back in February. I agree, it sucks. I've spiked fevers of 104 but Tylenol seems to work. I'm also hoping I'm on the last leg. Can't eat anything and keep it down.

Sounds like your symptoms are much worse.

Take care my friend and get well soon.

Another little tid-bit about "news & reporting"

Back in wave 2 and 3, Hamilton Spectator was reporting all the new cases each day. 300 new cases in Hamilton today, 400 today, 403 today, 389 today, etc. Day after day with the fear porn.

Now we are in 4th wave and people are tired of the lock-downs. The numbers are just not big enough scare people any more, so the recent Spectator story was

Hamilton among hardest hit in 4th wave, reporting 473 new cases per million after 7 days.

Hamilton is 550,000 so 473/M is 262 or 36 new cases each day. 36 doens't sound scary, and when they word salad the 473, it brings a bigger message.

There is a test, genomic sequencing. It’s just not worth doing for every case.

It's always cases that are reported now and not deaths. Don't want people knowing they went back into lockdown over something that kills less people than lightning strikes.
