  1. Just came back from dealer regarding battery, need 2nd opinions

Funny enough that problem lingered around until one month before my three year warranty ran out. The battery was toast. I got the dealer to replace it in the nick of time. Since then, no problems at all with the new battery, start stop works even in the heat.
  2. Another Ranger gone too soon......

Think of policy contracts as wine, each has its own vintage. Travelers may have had that endorsement in an earlier version of their offerings and then discontinued or modified it in their newer offerings. You were grandfathered in.
  3. Another Ranger gone too soon......

Full Replacement endorsements like Dave had are rare and need to be added when vehicle is brand new and usually last only a few years. It is company specific and varies by state. There are stated value and agreed value endorsements normally used by classic car owners, those can be beneficial...
  4. Another Ranger gone too soon......

Lots of interesting points on this thread. GAP coverage can be purchased from a dealer for a flat fee of 500 bucks or most insurance companies offer it as an endorsement for a few dollars a month and it can be cancelled if not needed. Insurance company gap coverage does not normally cover...
  5. Oxford White Ranger Tremor Thread

Why not buy the stripes ? If it looks good, you feel good. You might be able to get some through a body shop connection if you can’t get them through normal channels. There is no such thing as the decal police, you aren’t a poser if you put them on. Packages are where the factories and dealers...
  6. Oxford White Ranger Tremor Thread

Nice !! You will really enjoy the truck. One thing I noticed right away… this is a Northern truck looking at it with Arizona eyes.. little or no tint on passenger side glass, back panels a bit darker. In the North folks like to warm up with sun coming through glass, in the desert ? we hide...
  7. Hate to go but.........

Best wishes… been an.awfully long wait. Personally, I like your first girl better !! Gorgeous red and black truck, one of the nicest Rangers I have seen. May this new fling bring you happiness without remorse of a love lost.
  8. ***Update Pg. 26*** Think It'll Buff Out?

Your understanding is correct, cars are paid at depreciated value usually. Not every company offers the endorsement that Dave bought. Many times you can only purchase it when the truck is brand new. For collector cars there are agreed value and stated value options through companies like...
  9. ***Update Pg. 26*** Think It'll Buff Out?

Subrogation… you handled it exactly right, it was because of the replacement cost endorsement you had to go this way. Travelers will probably recoup 37k plus your deductible and any rental car paid out. You’ll get your 500 back. Paid off 2023 coming off a 2019 with a small balance, you come...
  10. ***Update Pg. 26*** Think It'll Buff Out?

That is true for car damages given the incident based pricing with most companies. If you or anyone in your car is injured, in that case you should report to your insurance company right away, there may be coverages on your policy that can help.
  11. ***Update Pg. 26*** Think It'll Buff Out?

You are golden, got a great adjuster and things are going to be just fine. It is so funny if you think about all the hand detailing, measuring of seams, stress about fuel in the oil, tires, wheels etc and in an instant, right by home, it all ends. Nobody loves your truck as much as you do, it...
  12. ***Update Pg. 26*** Think It'll Buff Out?

You folks crack me up. Like vultures picking on a carcass. Dave is working with the adjuster and what he/she says goes… generally speaking, when an insurance company totals your truck, they have essentially paid you for it. Got some aftermarket items on it, sometimes you can take them other...
  13. ***Update Pg. 26*** Think It'll Buff Out?

You can message me anytime. Travellers is jacking rates (took a customer from them today) as are most insurance companies in the past six months, so your rate will probably go up regardless, especially with the new truck. At fault accidents do raise rates, these days any claim be it a tow...
  14. ***Update Pg. 26*** Think It'll Buff Out?

Looks like it is all going well for you. Your insurance company will most likely subrogate to recoup its payout to you and your deductible. Looking at her car, she hit you in a very venerable portion of our trucks, offset collisions can be quite dangerous in general. Once you get the new...
  15. Ranger blasphemy!

It is all about the headlights… in my opinion style wise 5g>6g, Frontier>6g and now Colorado>6g. In summary, 5g = Colorado (push) both > Frontier which is > 6g. Keeping my 5g but in the future Colorado will get a serious look. Transmission and gas mileage will be a big factor.
  16. Understanding downward pressure on used car/truck prides

Lots of moving parts for sure, not many Rangers were leased in the first place, so I think this more of a model specific phenomenon. A lease is simply paying for anticipated depreciation over a fixed time period with additional fees. Lease payments are going up now because the anticipated...
  17. My New Gen 6 Ranger

Bought my Ranger in November 2019, somewhat rare in the US at the time had it 3 weeks, parked it and flew to Australia. Went on surfing holiday from Noosa to Byron Bay and hung out in Brisbane quite a bit. All up and down the Gold Coast, Rangers were EVERYWHERE, l mean all over the place...
  18. Where to sell my 2020 Ranger

The check will probably clear. You might be just squeaking the sale in the nick of time. https://www.ranger5g.com/forum/threads/understanding-downward-pressure-on-used-car-truck-prides.23281/
  19. Understanding downward pressure on used car/truck prides

How many of us jumped for joy a year ago when getting a Carvana bid ? We had no intention of selling, but liked to boast of equity in a typically depreciating asset. Those days were short lived. Read the link below. In a nutshell Carvana paid top dollar on cars so they could make the big...
  20. Where to sell my 2020 Ranger

You can try CarMax, Driveway or TrueCar. With interest rates still high on used vehicles the affordability index is lower so unless you have a cash buyer the simple truth is your truck is worth less than last year’s unsustainable peak. You can’t compete with new truck incentives. An old wise...
