I'm sorry to keep reading that this is still unresolved.

I still don't understand how Ford can believe this is a legitimate explanation. Are we supposed to get separate "short range" and "long range" vehicles?

There are no vehicles that I know of, where a company claims this limitation, especially as an excuse to cover customer complaints and (potentially) poor engineering.

But, if the ranger is indeed that, then they should market it as long-range only ... and they'll get as many sales as they deserve :D

Next thing we know: "This vehicle should only be used for 16.1-24.3 mile trips. " ?
I agree ridiculous!!

Dropped my truck off yesterday and picked it up today. I was told the Field Service Engineer and a Tech from Ford were at the dealership today and ran numerous tests on my truck and took an oil sample with them back to "Ford" and that they would let the dealership know what the next steps should be in about a week or two. They must of been doing something, as when I went to get in my truck the windows were down and it reeked of gasoline. Someone who had oil/gas on there hands or arms must have driven the truck as I had to wipe down the wheel and center console as there was visual spots on the leather or faux leather. Oh well I cleaned it again when I got home. You would think they would do better as my truck was spotless clean as I detailed inside and out on Sunday. Something I have done before each service.

They claimed they could not fix the AC as it was too cold out to get the AC to kick on? They could not find the results from the last oil sample they took in October, but they said it is recorded electronically in Ford's system? Hopefully, when I get the paperwork, eventually, it will contain everything they have done and what the latest sample reports were. I will update the situation when I hear what the Field Service Engineer decides what to do next.

You must have the patience of Job. I commend you. Good luck

Wondering if the gentleman in League City that threw a rod had this problem? Could it be related?
Our Ecoboost engine s are equipped with low tension piston rings and something like 10.5:1 compression. The only way fuel gets into the engine is via the cylinder injectors.

Fuel blow by getting into the crankcase (not burning) sounds like a pretty significant flaw. Yet not everyone is experiencing the same level of oil dilution.

My 4th Blackstone report is back. I was hopeful it would be better as I've been adding some longer trips twice a week. But......
" Iron is up a little, though that might be a function of the longer oil run " " Keep oil changes short while fuel is excessive"

You had only 2500 miles on the oil. I guess those of us with this issue are going to spend a lot more on oil changes? Although, Ford has footed the bill for my last 8 oil changes.

Yeh, I intentionally waited a little longer this time. My plan was to change it next time after 3,000mi which would put me at 10,000 on the truck. I hope you get a resolution in your case. I think all with issue are waiting to see what Ford does with your truck. Good Luck.

I went 7k miles on amsoil 5w30 signature series. Sent an OA sample out to black stone and the flash point was raised to 2.0 which they say is the threshold for a fuel dilution issue. The TBN was excellent but the viscosity was decreased. I'm going to send a 5k interval to Polaris Labs next. They also test oxidation, which Blackstone doesn't, and use GC for fuel dislution, which is accurate instead of guessing based off of Flashpoint. I may switch to a thicker oil like 0w40 signature series to compensate for the viscosity being cut down by the fuel.
Either way, the 10k intervals Ford set for this truck is far from safe unless we start with a 15w40 and are constantly draining the excess.

Mine goes back in March 4th. Made it back up to the overfull hole from the middle of the hash marks where the dealer set it after 2000 miles on the oil. See what they say. Really wish Ford would figure this out. Dealer has a Explorer they have been working on with the 2.3l with same issue. Ford just sent them a long block for that one. So at least my dealership is trying. Will see what they do next.

I get about a 2 mpg drop minimum with winter fuel an "normal" winter temps (30's)....when it gets into the 20's an below it's more like 4 mpg. throw some snow covered roads an 4x4 in an that's another hit.

I hope this gets solved for everyone....I'm afraid Ford knows what's going on but figures it cheaper to give an extended warranty that might not ever get used to people than buy back the problem motors or trucks.
Just motored south from Albany Or. 850 miles on Interstate 5 averaged 26.8 mpg average speed for trip 70 mph I'm blessed with a 2019 Lariat 2 wheel drive no gas in oil issues and it's short driven alot. Common Ford fix the issues others are having!

Got my latest sample back after having my HPFP replaced under warranty and it seems to have remedied my fuel dilution problem! They only found trace amounts this go around and recommended i try a 6,000 mile interval this go round. So fingers crossed hopefully im on the up and up now!

How many miles did you have on the tested oil after the HPFP replacement? Mine lasted about 2 to 3 thousand miles then started up again. But is not near as bad of a issue as it was before the HPFP replacement.

I'm really struck by how quick these engines sheer down oil viscosity, even in engines that don't have the fuel in oil problem. I was planning on 5k oil change intervals but may have to lower that. There is no way I would go by the oil change monitor.
