  1. So the local oil change place overfilled my 2019 Ranger by almost a quart...

My truck is routinely 1-2 quarts overfull, due to fuel contamination, and Ford has told me it is not an issue. Every oil change is 6.2 qts in, and ~8.2-8.3qts out. I have approximately ~55k miles on the truck and I am sure for the majority of that, the oil level was well over a quart high, and...
  2. Fuel in oil

Wow, I haven't visited this thread in a long while. I don't think I have seen anyone who has this issue worse than my truck, double digit fuel contamination after only 500 miles. It is still running at 54,000 miles or so. Ford gave up throwing parts at it, so after 17 trips to the dealer, they...
  3. TPMS OEM MODEL

Yup, junk, 2 of 4 for me, have died after about 2 years also.
  4. Fuel in oil

This does not sound right? At this point, I have not seen anyone who has this issue worse than my truck. Unless your truck has a different dipstick, 2" above the twist is a hell of a lot more than a "quart to half quart over full". I just did a 7500 mile interval oil change, the longest I have...
  5. Poll - Test Results for Fuel in Oil

Here are 2 of mine, both taken and sent out by the dealer. One is from April with 500 miles on the oil (12%), the other is from July with 2100 miles on the oil (13%). For both of those the level was just to the twist. I now have almost 37K on the truck and the oil level rises to about 3/8in...
  6. Fuel in oil

So, are you saying don't bother checking the oil between 5k mile oil changes? If not, what would you do if you were 1000 miles into an oil change and the level is 3/8in over the twist? Just drive it the remaining 4k and change the oil?
  7. Supercrew rear seat delete

    That looks great. Details?
  8. Fuel in oil

Ford did 10 oil changes for me under warranty.
  9. Fuel in oil

The guy claims that the oil smelled so bad of fuel his eyes watered, yet the Blackstone report only showed 0.8% for fuel dilution? That's hard to believe? I have read that the Blackstone method is not accurate on fuel dilution.
  10. Battery Question

Yes, I have read the other threads. I guess it depends if you get a good dealer or not? Do you also get the message when you go to start it for the first time of the day? The message I get is on the Sync3 screen, I don't remember the exact warning, but it tells you to start the vehicle or turn...
  11. Battery Question

Yup, that is what I am doing now, but unlike before it was on the Rotunda machine, it is holding steady at 12.2V and not dropping. I have to drive it tomorrow, so I will give it one more check tomorrow morning. I was more worried it was something with the charging or a parasitic draw, but it...
  12. Battery Question

Excellent, 94R it is, as I have a Lariat. That is also what they showed for the Ranger on their site, but they did not have an option to select the US based Ranger.
  13. Fuel in oil

I agree with you and don't blame you at all from getting out from under your issue. If Ford hadn't extended my powertrain warranty, I am sure I would have traded mine in already. This issue sure takes the fun out of ownership. Oh well, I guess I can start an Oil thread; "What Oil Works Best...
  14. Battery Question

No way I'll be buying a battery from Ford, the warranty part involves the whole PIA dealer interaction that I try to avoid. I am sure there are many great dealers out there, but they are not within reasonable driving distance from my home. I've used Odyssey batteries in my motorcycles before...
  15. Battery Question

That's the thing, I have not gotten any of those messages since it was on their machine. If it is just the battery going bad, I can deal with that, if it was due to the charging system, that may get a bit more costly. They did say the charging system was working as it should. The thing that...
  16. Fuel in oil

This is not totally correct. Oil breaks down from pressure and heat, which promotes oxidation, and would still need to be changed, even if there was zero fuel contamination. Many of us with this problem have long commutes to work, so the short drive theory does not apply in all cases.
  17. Battery Question

Thanks, the dealer did say that they needed a code from that to warranty the battery, which it did not give. When I got home, I tested the battery with my multi-meter, in which it was 12.5V, which settled down to 12.2V overnight. I had been checking the battery regularly over the past few...
  18. Battery Question

I have been having an issue with my battery over the past month. It has been sending my Ford Pass app "Remote features disabled..." messages to preserve battery. It also was giving me a message on Sync every morning when I went to start it, that I needed to either start the vehicle or turn off...
  19. Theory on fuel in oil.

Hmm, so the worse the fuel dilution is, the more fuel flowing over the carboned up valves, thus reducing the carbon on the valves, thus reducing fuel dilution?........brilliant.
  20. Theory on fuel in oil.

It was just something I tried to see if it would affect the fuel dilution. Between oil changes, which were frequent and all done under warranty, I tried several different things, mostly from comments on this forum. It really is hard to do, at 75+mph on the freeway with any wind at all, it is...
