I can confirm identical results when I downloaded to my IMac - It was hosed.
I then used my Windows machine to avoid that ClusterF.

This may be your mac acting weird because they're compressed archives. The backslash is a folder indicator in the filesystem, and I've seen macs act weird when displaying compressed archives only in a folder.
