  1. Ranger Camper Limitation

Good stuff....I'm waiting on my Scout Tuktut camper for my 2019 Lariat. I just finished up installing Firestone Airbags even tho it'll be April before I can pick up the camper. How well does your setup handle crosswinds?
  2. Are TPMS Sensors "Location" Dependent

Not surprising. It's not that difficult to do.
  3. Are TPMS Sensors "Location" Dependent

Can't help you there...I don't know. But I suspect they all do have automatic relearn...???
  4. Are TPMS Sensors "Location" Dependent

It looks like both are true depending on the system used. This explains it.
  5. Sync 3 v3.4.23188

Glad you got it worked out. It sucks to invest 90 minutes and then give up -- I know bc I've been there done that. This time I left the USB in for awhile after the message appeared that said it was okay to remove. Maybe that's why the xml file was there bc it has not been in the past. It also...
  6. Sync 3 v3.4.23188

I think I'm finally done with Sync and map updates. I ended up doing a soft reset and reloading Sync 3.4.23188 via USB. It only took 15-20 minutes and when it was done it did write an XML file. I uploaded that to Ford and it immediately updated my vehicle sync version. And when I checked for any...
  7. Sync 3 v3.4.23188

About connectivity. I had the same spinning ball. And Ford Pass would not activate. I removed the vehicle from Ford pass and added it back. This time it activated and it turned on more connectivity choices (Location services for one) that were not present before. It takes a bit for stuff to sync...
  8. Sync 3 v3.4.23188

Glad this new release is resolving issues for folks. For me, I had none before but now it doesn't talk to Ford or my Ford Pass app. Never had connectivity issues before but the Trucks Ford Pass -> Connectivity setting is a never ending spinning ball. and so if "searching for updates".
  9. Sync 3 Maps Update

Wow, how are you guys getting this done so quickly? It took mine almost 50 minutes for the first reboot and another 40 minutes or so to the 2nd reboot. All seems fine and Voice commands work so I think it installed fine but it took well longer than Ford sates in their update docs.
  10. Sync 3 v3.4.23188

And my '19 Lariat shows them on the home screen and in the climate screen as shown in post 62. Go figure...??
  11. Sync 3 v3.4.23188

Yeah, who ever thought it was okay to need the engine running for SW installs should find another line of work.
  12. Sync 3 v3.4.23188

Yeah, I thought about that. This time the update did not complete before the truck shut it down. When I restarted the truck the download looked stalled. Nothing was happening. I tried plugging in my USB Map update but that was ignored. The bottom line is I had to perform a master reset to get...
  13. Sync 3 v3.4.23188

The truck shows Sync 3.4.23188 but the Ford Owner site shows it needs updating to 3.4.23188. Curious, I went back into the truck setting menu and did a check for available updates. It is now downloading 4U5T-14G422-CAM. This file is not part of the 3.4.23188 update but it is a file that gets...
  14. Sync 3 v3.4.23188

I did the update thru WiFi. The beauty of doing it this way is the truck does not have to be running. In accessory mode, I turned off lights, radio and climate and left it alone while it was updating. Took 30-45 minutes and completed successfully. Next up is the map update. Arrgh, the truck...
  15. Map update coming approx 8/14/2023

That's the one I used last time but I could not recall the name...Thanks...I'm going to go get that again (but WinZip did the job this time round). I'll update my post....thanks again. I started the truck and plugged the USB in and it seems to be good. I'm not spending an hour to install at...
  16. Map update coming approx 8/14/2023

I paid for the 5 year download plan and -IF YOU USE A MAC - I have found 2 error's/problems with the Ford Instructions: 1) DO NOT USE GUID PArtiton Map - use Master Boot Record. Otherwise the truck does not recognize the USB. 2) My Mac (M1 Pro with 32GB Ram) will not unzip the Sync32.zip file...
  17. Map update coming approx 8/14/2023

On the 5 year USB pricing.....from what I gather the cost is $199/5Yr + $40/yr for the USB. This turns out to be ~400/5 years or $80/year....vs $40/year if I write to own USB. $200 more for 5 usb cards is absurd. I've managed to bungle thru 3 previous updates and I guess that's in my future as...
  18. Ranger Camper Limitation

Skateboard huh? I'll be interested in your findings! Enjoy the mountains!!! So it sounds like a Hellwig anti-sway bar and the Timbrens to get me started (and likely better shocks while I'm at it). I won't be doing any real 4x4 off road stuff (I have a 43 Willys for that) so that simplifies my...
  19. Ranger Camper Limitation

Arrgh, I don't wanna think about gas mileage....I know it'll take a nose dive... Wish I could afford that setup....My Ranger would sit at home....
  20. Ranger Camper Limitation

Ive looked at your rig as well. I kinda wanted to be able to just pull in a rest area and crawl in the back for a nap. My Lariat has a 1434Lb payload limit and since it's just me and my dog I don't expect to go over the GVWR rating but the Yoho will be pushing it.
