Yeah, when this issue started with my truck, I was at right around 40,000 miles, so no more warranty for this. Even if I had one, though, given the horror stories I've heard about dealer experiences I'm not sure it's worth it.

I believe that's the sunload sensor. It is used to determine just how intense the sun is that comes into the cab, so it can adjust the climate control accordingly. It is also used to sense when it's time to turn on the auto headlights. Looks like they just managed to bust the top cap off of it...

There is 1 bolt that the shop manual says should be discarded and replaced with a new one. It's the bolt that holds the steering column linkage together, and I did get a new one to replace it. Ford won't sell you just 1 though, as they come in a pack of 4 - but a bag of 4 is still pretty cheap...

I did not have any problems at all with my spacers and the Hankooks. Just didn't need them any more when I went to the MT's. Get a good quality spacer though - I went with these, and they are excellent quality.
