The tacoma seating position is similar to sitting in a bath tub lol. I don't know how people can sit in those on long drives!
IDK I think my bathtub is more comfy. lol My '16 Tacoma was so uncomfortable when we use to take long trips I would rent a car.

Back on topic, the Ram 1500 Classic is in the price range of a Ranger, Coloranyon &Taco, so cross shopping price vs size is what some people want; e.g. how much truck can I get for $40,000?

IMHO, if more people are trading in Ram pickups for Rangers than Chevy, GMC, Toyota and Nissan full size truck owners are trading for Rangers is simply that the other manufacturers have a mid size offering and Ram doesn't.
