Why do they keep making nicer Rangers unavailable to North America?
Looks like a lifter sport truck. Bring the suspension down.

Sits up too high for an on road sport truck IMHO. Should be lower and sportier. GM got it right back in the day.

Hi Eric,

The answer to this question, if divulged, resides in Ford North America Marketing. Suspect it has to do with the F150 Raptor sales, JMO....

I was kinda thinking something along those lines as the F150 Raptor is not available in other markets. Hell, it wouldn't even fit on many European streets.

I am curious...the diesel has a nice advangate in the torque dept but we have the HP advantage with the EB 2.3...I wonder in a straight up drag race between the two....what are the 0-60's and 1/4 times for the 2.0 turbodiesel? our "published" info appears to be a 7 sec 0-60 and a 14.7 sec quarter mile.

Not my cup of tea either but why do we get the short end on all these models is the question.
Likely $$$. Of all the Rangers sold how many will be Tremor packages? How many would be Raptors if they were available in the US market? Look at the percentage of the nearly 800k F-150s sold in 2020 in the US that were Raptors. On the opposite end of the spectrum look at what FCA is doing with countless performance variations of Jeeps, Rams, and Dodges. Then again, look at their revenue and profits compared to Ford.

Unless a Ford executive frequents these forums, you won’t find your answer here.

Nicer or Ricer?

All I see is a bunch of bolted on plastic aero crap (ricer) and wheel well arches that are still waaaaaay above the top of the tire.

If they want to call it a "Street Truck" lower it.... a lot. Kind of like the photo below...

That's because most of their towns and streets were laid out before the US was a country. And they don't tear things down to streets like we do.

I don't even want whole other versions of the Ranger, just some of the standard equipment we should be getting, like this:

https://media.ford.com/content/ford...-dash-cams-now-possible-in-certain-ford-.html
Standard... No.

Optional.. Sure.

If you want extra technology, then you pay for it. Sound fair?

Hell, almost all of the technology on the 2019 Rangers I don't want.

I'd be happy with no air conditioning, no electric windows, no anti lock brakes, no collision warning, no touch screen, no automatic headlights, no lane departure warning, no back up camera, yadda, yadda, yadda.

But I do like the front and side airbags, and the crash safety ratings.
