Will you be upgrading to a 6G? Why or why not?

Thanks to all the extra Tech that has been added to the Ranger, I'm going to stick with my 2012 Frontier. Much more simple and easy to work on.

i am currently pricing out a 6g, same as mine just with powered seats. seems like dealers are dropping prices around here by 4500-5000.
xlt, fx4, 301a with tow package going for 40.
i really don’t want a new payment, but i’m not trusting the trans in this

First I will answer the question, NO. I like the styling of my 2021. IMO, the front end on the new model....it looks like an F150 or a Maverick. Seems Ford is trying to make all their trucks look the same on the front.
Now a comment: Is it really a 6G?! Really a new generation of a Ranger? I say it is not. A different grill, change the lights a little bit....does not make it an entire new generation of Ranger. There is no radical design or size change. Just my observation.
Longer wheel base, but the overall length is the same, the track is 2in wider, other frame mods to accommodate a V6, and the rear shock mounts are relocated.

I ordered my 2021 Ranger as my last truck (until the next one ? ) It is working well for me, but I'm not carrying my motorcycle across time zones to ride at a destination as much as I did at first. The next vehicle might be a PHEV or hybrid SUV. I had originally planned on keeping the Ranger for 20 years, driving it occasionally and using the Mariner as the main vehicle, but actually it's the other way around; she's got 67,000 miles in a little over three years. At this rate, I'll have 392,000 on it in 2041. Stay tuned...

LOL Fing Ford planned this shitty trans so people are forced to upgrade. /Sarcasm God, I hate planned obsolesce but the tranny is a driving factor in many decisions to upgrade.

I was just looking 2024 Ranger Raptors at MSRP. I was getting interested until I saw a 7.6% interest with 30% down and above 800 credit. Jeez thats steep

It amazes me how some dealers can give such huge discounts. My local dealer in Upstate N.Y $2400 off mispronounced a 2024 XLT and $750 of that was Ford rebate.

$750 is all I can get here in South Louisiana, mainly because there are not many available.
I was a hard no on the 6G, But I'm starting to like them more and more, especially the tech and brake controller.
Me: XLT High, Advanced Tow with Tech package RWD, or possible Lariat with TBC.

NO !!! Spec'd out a 2 wheel drive Lariat with the same equipment as my 2021, and before any incentives, it came out to $48 grand.
In the middle of the 2021 shortage my Lariat scab stickered for $38 and I got it for $35,
It's paid for, 8 year warranty, no problems, and it's a scab which became extinct in 2024.

I commented earlier in this thread with "nope" without trying to build one, I still say nope. Besides the fact there's no SCAB option, I can't get one close to what I would want. I don't see a black package anymore for one, the 2.7 is a nice addition though, but certain things I would want would have to come with things I don't. The only 6G I'd be ok with is the Raptor lol.

I traded my 2021 XLT for a new 2024 XLT with some options. the sticker on the 2024 was $42,915.

Can’t say I’m sold on the 6G. They grew a bit on me for sure, but I still love the looks of the 5G. The “big Maverick” front end isn’t it. Been seeing some 6Gs around … happy with what I have.
