All month long nobody was willing to negotiate with the exception of 1 dealer. But now that it's the end of the month my phone is ringing off the hook. There's a couple Lariats I've had my eye on and manager thinks that between a new incentive he can get me down to 10k off sticker or better so I told him if he can do that I'll drive there in my old Ford and drive home in my new one. The only question is.. Hot Pepper Red or Saber?

Nope, "deal" didn't go through. They ended up being off by 800.00 (due to me not having a trade in). They also wanted to charge a 599 dealer doc fee which everything I've read online is illegal in Georgia.

so now we wait a month.

Good for you on pushing back! I'm fortunate enough to live in a state that has a $150 cap on doc fees but I've heard of some doc and marketing fees exceeding $1k!

So Sound Ford in Renton WA did the whole "It's the last day of the month, we have approval to be aggressive and sell some trucks, come in and we'll get you that price we discussed - no problem." So after the "I have to get approval from my manager" dog-and-pony-show, they reneged on my price (33k) so I left and let them know how the round trip from my home to their dealership on a Friday in rush hour (4 hours on the road) only to be lied to wasn't appreciated. They called me an hour later to get me to come back, but at a price still a few hundred above my price so I said no. Then at 8pm, the sales guy left a VM saying they would agree to my price and I can come in tomorrow and do the deal.

HOWEVER!!

On my home I thought to myself... "Does it have to be new? After all the new-car buying experience is gawd awful".. So I pulled up Cars.com and searched nationwide and found a pre-owned 2019 Lariat in another state w/ 12k miles which is acceptable. I hit the "request more info" button and got a call before I'm even done pumping gas. The guy at this dealer was fantastic, a total 180 degree difference from Sound Ford. Gave me all the background on the truck (came off lease), how long it had been on the lot - every question I had, he took the time.

Saturday morning (today) I get a text from them with multiple videos and pictures from the truck as it sits. Looks great. Followed up on the phone and spoke with their financial guy. They beat my credit union rate by almost a full percent.. done, sold!

Didn't even have to set FOOT inside a showroom. I bought a $46,000 truck for $33k and couldn't be happier and the private sale of my Ford Expedition will more than cover the transport costs. Red Pepper, Lariat w/ 501a, Crew, FX4, tow and spray in liner.

I’m a big believer in Black Friday. Have bought all my new vehicles then. Was actually planning to buy a used truck, but saw Ford was offering $6100 rebate, and with some negotiation got $5401 additional from the dealer on my 2019. MSRP $40,230, plus $1195 destination, $799 (ridiculous) doc fee, $899 Line X premium spray in liner, $1000 VIP package (life time oil change, tire rotation, inspection, loaner when in shop, and lifetime engine warranty), $1345 tax and $101 tag/ license fee adds up to $45,569. Realize that’s their numbers, but I got out the door/ one check for $32,669.

Don’t consider myself a great negotiator, but I know how to do some research. Big items that helped me were: BLACK FRIDAY REBATES, found the vehicle on the lot I wanted, called three local dealerships and said I was buying a truck that weekend and they were one of the three I was including as potentials and if they wanted to be considered to give me their out the door price/ one check number for a similar vehicle that I had found on their lot/ web page. All of them did and I never got off my couch. Then I spent time at the place that had the one I had initially picked out and worked them for about three hours. Those three hours got me about another $800 on their additional discount to the Ford rebate; Line X spray in at their price ( $600) versus marked up list ($899) and the VIP package for $500 (versus $1000 list).

Our son wants a truck. I’ll start working with him in September so come Black Friday he’s driven what he’s considering as options, picked what he wants, and has three out the door prices from other dealers. Recipe has worked for me.

So I'm sitting on my couch, watching TV last night and a Ford commercial comes on. Specifically a commercial for the Ranger and Ford Truck Month. I didn't see all the things mentioned, but I did see a 0% financing option.

Now, for the life of me, I can't find ANYTHING online about this. Is it possible it was last month and they just ran an old commercial?

Picked up my 2019 XLT / FX4 / 302a / Tech / Tow / Running boards this week after making the deal on 12/29. They had to bring it in from a dealer 3 hours away.
Stickered @ $41,510 paid $31,431

It's a common thing Ford offers.

One (of just three) dealers here in Honolulu is looking to dump their stock of 2019's, I heard a radio commercial in which they are offering 2.5 K in "Ford Cash" which seems paltry compared to discounts others here have gotten.
This is the first ever radio commercial concerning the Ranger I've heard yet, all this time they've been pushing the F series.

Need clarification here please, did the $40,230 MSRP not include a destination fee already? The last time I looked ALL MSRP'S included such a fee.
What was your final OTD price on the vehicle, given the 3 hours you "worked" the dealer, is it the $32,669 you mention? Or is that figure for a totally different vehicle from what you actually bought?
Who underwrote the "VIP" package policy with regards to the "lifetime engine warranty"?

Hitting these in the order you asked. My out the door price for the vehicle I bought (2019 Supercab, XLT, 302A, driver and passenger 8 way adjustable seats, Sync 3, running boards, Line-X spray in premium bed and the VIP package mentioned) plus all taxes and fees - one check only given to dealer - was $32,669.

The dealer added the destination fee onto the $40,230 MSRP even though it's listed on the sticker; when you call them on it they say it's a common practice, but bottom line is all I care about is the out the door price which I was happy with. The dealer (Sheehy Ford) underwrites the engine warranty (along with providing the lifetime oil change, tire rotation, inspection). They've been around a long time, big in the area, and we're not planning on moving any time soon, so not too worried about not getting what I paid for it ($500) back.

Well, as long as your're happy.
Personally though, any dealer that charges twice for a destination fee (a common practice they say) is mighty shady. It appears that they may giving the buyer a deal with respect to this, when in effect, they are giving nothing at all, it's a needless markup.
All the more reason I went the X-Plan route, I've got much better things to do than "work" a dealer for 3 hours.
Just my opinion, that's all...

Are invoice prices the same at all dealers ?
Should be, can't imagine why they may be different, along with the MSRP.
I went the X-Plan route for my 2020 S/Cab, the dealer is required to show you the invoice price.
