Define "not overinflated", what size and load rating are they?

They look fine to me?

Are you talking about the 2 lines that are slightly "faded"? Probably just part of the design.

They look fine to me. Are you refering to the tracks in the dust? If so there is just more dust where the tracks aore prominent.

In both pics , the tires are contacting the road at the bottom , not the middle , the dust is on the middle (and top) but that's from rotation I believe... further investigation ? is key ? ?
Have you herd of a "moulage"?

OP still hasn't indicated what psi he's running or load ranger/ply of tires. Goodyear has a max of 50 psi for those, and if he's running that or near that on an empty truck, it could have a bearing on tread contract.
I know my Yokohama's with a 10 ply have an 80 psi rating, but thats with a full load.....empty they would be rock hard and riding on center of tread

38 psi is the recommended pressure

My qualifications: I worked in the tire industry for almost 5 years. I went to school to be a mechanic.

The hardest thing to explain to people is that the recommended pressure is for the OE tire, on an OE truck, in the OE size. If you change ANYTHING, the recommendation needs to be adjusted. It CAN be the same as the OE setup, but it could also be different.

Are you running the same tire size as before? The same load rating? the same suspension? If ANYTHING has changed, then you need to do the chalk test to figure out what the pressure should be. Pictures on the internet are not going to allow us to determine exactly what you need.

Get some chalk, make a good line across the tire and then drive a bit to see where the line is worn out. If its worn in the middle, but not the outside, you need to drop the pressure. I would do it 5 lbs at first and repeat the chalk test. Then you can go up or down from there.

What at my I looking at? Looks perfect to me...You want contact with the "tread" patterns on the side? Those are just sidewall protection...

looks good. The odd straight lines are probably the design. Tires are made from many layers and materials. Tires are like Ogres, they have layers.

I thought the same thing - that OP is referring to those lines. Maybe they have something to do with a QA thing or as a visual reference during the manufacturing process to indicate the tire compound.

A tire company used to provide me with mountain bike tires to test while racing and training. They had different coloured lines running the circumference like seen in the OP’s photos. Sometimes, more than one line. They were used to designate the compound in each of the tires. It was an R&D thing. I would rotate them in and out of my riding and note any difference in handling, wear, traction, etc. and give them back when I was ready for new ones.

Maybe @Colo_Ranger or our friends at @Discount Tire can offer insight into what those lines are for.

Edited: Added pic to clarify what “lines” I’m going on about.
