2019 Ranger (Lariat, FX4, leveling kit)
Hi All... first time poster, here, AND someone VERY new to modifications AND not very mechanically inclined.

I have a 2019 Ranger Lariat with a Pro Comp leveling kit and these 17" wheels https://www.autorimshop.com/wheel/ford/ranger/2019/ford-ranger-2019-17-oem-wheel-rim-192186.html

Here's info on the ProComp leveling kit
Pro Comp’s new Level Lift system is the most economical way to upgrade the midsize 2019 Ford Ranger 4WD to a more aggressive off-road stance while adding clearance for 33-inch tires. The Ranger’s factory crash bars limit tire size and many shops resort to cutting them to allow for larger tires. Pro Comp uses ¼-inch thick steel leveling spacers and newly engineered high clearance crash bars that have the same strength as the OE bars. This lifts the front end 2-1/4 inches but maintains the factory ride quality and safety features of the truck.
Features:
• Leveling lift spacer lifts front of vehicle 2-1/4 inches
• Replacement overlap (crash) bars gives additional tire clearance
• 1/4-inch steel construction with Grade 8 hardware
• Does not affect the factory OEM ride quality/comfort or safety features
• Max tire size: 285/70/17 with +35mm offset on 17x8.5 wheel

So, my questions are these:
- The ProComp mentions a +35mm offset; my wheels have a +55mm offset. Is that additional offset from my wheels a good thing or a bad thing if I want to go to 33" tires?
- The leveling kit raised the front 2.25"; if I go to 33" tires (from my 30.6" tires), I'd be adding about another 1.25". So the total lift would be coming in right around 3.5". If nothing else is changed, do I run the risk of excessive wear/tear on suspension? Drivetrain? Steering? Other components?
- Is there an easy way (for a non-mechanical person like me!) to recalibrate the speedometer? Or is that something that is best left for a Ford dealer or independent garage?

Any other feedback, comments, suggestions, warnings, etc. on this are also welcome!

Cheers,
BDK

Hi Kurt,

There are many posts on these Forums that have a wealth of info on bigger tires, Offsets, Back spacing etc. I think with a bit of time you will get an idea but there are quite a few folks here that may chime in.

Welcome to the 5G forums and enjoy your Ranger!

Best,

Some 33" tires will fit 17" factory wheels with a 2"+ lift with crash bars still on.

Some 33" tires will not.

Just saying "33 inch tires" doesn't amount to much, because the fact of the matter most people with 33" tires are either rounding up in the high 32's or rounding down in the low 33's. Each manufacturer has varying sizes.

I have Toyo Open Country AT2, 285/70/17 which I refer to as 33" tires. The truth of the matter is they are 32.7" tires.

I can tell you my brand of tire will fit with 2"+ lift without having to to touch the crash bars with the factory 55+ offset. However your clearance is paper thin. Any move towards negative offset will require modification or removal of the bars.

When I added 2" wheel spacers it changed my offset to roughly 5+ and the bars had to be removed.

My truck from last year when I brought it home from the dealer (55+ offset), then after 2" spacers (+5 offset):
