I ordered my 23 without a liner to have one sprayed in from Line-X soon after purchase in order to have a better warranty on the liner. The shop trucks at my work have drop in style which have held up well over the years, but I thought Iād give the spray in a try. (This is my first pickup)
Got mine in today! It indeed looks like a Ford part with their name scratched off. Being a technician at an independent shop, this is not out of the ordinary. If the aftermarket cannot make or find a part cheap enough, they will get them from the OEM supplier.
Thanks! No new pics of the 98. It resides in my parentās garage and is driven a couple times per month lol. This one is from 2020 when it was first brought āhomeā. It looks the same, but now has the full size mirrors that were optional at the time.
With the good luck Iāve had with this BFGoodrich Trail Terrains on other vehicles, I finally put a set on my Ranger! I went a size up to 265/65/18 over the factory 265/60/18 and I think they look great! I have the Ford Performance tuner which let me adjust for the difference in size that these...
With the evidence from the small amount of smoke and the scratches on the filler neck, replacing the filler neck would be the ābest educated guessā in my opinion. I work at a small independent shop and with it being such an intermittent issue with nothing obviously ābrokenā it makes sense. But...
I replaced mine at 1,000 miles. After my first highway trip, I knew I had to. It bounced up and down like a sailboat! Once apart, one of my FX4s on the front was already leaking down the sideā¦at 1,000 miles! The 4600s are a world a difference. A little on the firm side at times, but handling and...
I too have the FPT and continued using the stock filter from day one without issue. I sold the new K&N from the kit on Marketplace lol. So you should be fine using a stock filter in place of the K&N.
Youāre welcome. I purchased a Motorcraft filter in October of last year from Rockauto and it too had the rattle to it. I cut open the filter from my March of 2023 built Ranger and it had the flap in it.
The rattler is from the āthermal plateā inside the filter. Here is an article that better explains what that is.

I contacted them by phone and talked to a guy about what was going on. After I had proof of purchase, I was contacted by another guy who was able to fix it through my computer remotely with the ProCal hooked to it. There were some hoops to jump through, but it all got sorted out. I donāt plan on...
I donāt think you could go wrong either way. I installed 4600s around 2,000 miles on my 2023 fx4. Once apart I could see one of the factory fronts was already leaking! Sadly, just cheap junk installed at the factory.
Iām an over maintainer because my job is to fix broken and worn out cars everyday from lack of maintenance and I donāt want my Ranger fall into that category?.
