This retirement thing is something I dream about. I ask retired people I know and they highly recommend it as well. I also dream of kicking the sh*t out of some people I work with and returning my work stuff and laugh while I'm doing it.
I was with the Dept of Navy and all the required WOKE and ENLIGHTENED training was my tipping point to retire.

At the other engineering firm I was previously employed at we had to endure "sensitivity training". It basically tried to push how all white males in their 40's on up are sex crazed, uncontrollable hounds delivered straight from hell and are too "harsh" and expect too much from some individuals so we needed to be gentler with the things we say. I had to chew it up and swallow it because I'm not quite close enough yet to walk out the door and just work part-time, . . . yet.

sad. id bet not one of our enemies wastes a single second or cent on that bull @#$% or DEI or Gender roles... They still do military stuff like train on how to destroy the enemy and protect the homeland etc.

I was injured at work painting aircraft and medically retired from Federal service at 42.
Very sorry to hear that and I hope you're well enough to enjoy your early retirement...Live Long and Prosper...
