First road trip woes

Were you in snow mode? I found a lot of braking was heavily in the rear to keep your nose pointed forward. Its certainly a pretty complex mode.

It seems slow throttle response too but I think it applies slight brake pressure to slipping wheels as well for grip.

I tried normal vs snow and it’s a world of difference with control both throttle and braking…

Nope. Was on the highway mostly so stayed in 2WD unless I was in an iced-over parking lot.

I love the traction control modes off-road, but don't use them otherwise.

Trailer mode might do the same. I wish we could get more insight into how the different modes work instead of guessing…

On the adaptive cruise control, could the sensor have gotten just enough salt and dirt on it to throw it off?

I was beginning to wonder if it was frozen behind the plastic cover of the ACC. There was MAYBE a few specks of dirt on the front of it. If I end up putting a winch there and relocating it, I'll inspect it more closely to see if that's even possible.

Did you know that a lariat when the ACC is not available you can easily tell the system to use the regular dumb cruise control? You can do this at anytime, doesn’t have to be when the ACC doesn’t work.

I saw a video review and the guy was driving on the snowy highways and was complaining about no cruise control and he had hundreds of miles to go.

Yep. I switched it into old school mode. Just frustrating.

Yeah, summer of 2020 - getting ready to leave the cottage - bad battery, replaced on warranty. Luckily, there’s a good Ford dealer in the town and a good neighbour who let me use his truck for two days.
