I saw potter at miami Hollywood dradstrip around 1967-68
on his 327 ci direct drive drag bike and the track limited him to under 150 mph...he burned all the way through the 1/4 mile...also he was known to be pulled behind a dragster on a steel skid plate..
I saw him in about 64ish on this bike. As you said, direct drive and cranked on stand (you can see it hanging off the back), tree came down and they just pushed him off.

A kid got killed here a few years ago (maybe 10) on a boss hoss at bike night. When he was leaving he was smoking the tire an as he eased it into traction to go it shot all at once right into a parked car.

Boss Hoss bikes are still around, I never felt the need to compensate with something like that. Well, when I was first out driving I did want a truck with a massive lift, but I don't know what I was compensating for. My sisters boyfriend ended up buying it, so that explained a lot of her frustrations.

We use to go to bike week every year up in Laconia. I've seen several of the Boss Hoss bikes there and they were really cool. We didn't have smart phones back then so I don't have any pictures but remember seeing one similar to this one.

I've never been to bike week, and I'm not that far from it.

When I was a kid spending most of my time at the golf course, we had a member that had one. Always parked it prominently out front of the clubhouse. In my teenage years I was in awe of such a piece of engineering. Now that I'm of riding age, you couldn't give me one of those ha. Funny how the mind changes with maturity.

I have always rode sport bikes and my last one was a 2001 GSXR 1000 with a power commander and a Yoshimura pipe. I've had everything from CBRR's to Ninja ZX-7 and ZX-11 and that Gixxer was the fastest and hardest pulling bike I've owned. Power to weight was insane at 160 hp/375 lbs. Maxed it out at 180 mph a few times.
I can understand the 180 mph... I pulled it on I-45 to max it out... Crotch rockets made a gentleman’s agreement to limit top speed to 180 mph, but 0-60 etc was on the table... this was my Kawasaki
ZX-10R... fastest bike I’ve ever owned...

To everyone following this, still haven’t heard from Ford about what actually caused the failure.. I called 5 Star Tuning, they returned my call, and said to speak with Stage 3 Motorsports for the warranty... We had the freeze come through Texas, and with work etc., this moved to the back burner... I’ll be contacting Stage 3 Motorsports this week about the warranty I paid for etc... still no pictures from Ford etc... but let’s enjoy this thread for bikes, cars, trucks etc until I hear something back, I’ll post it.. I currently have a 2012 Kawasaki 1400 Concours, and a 2012 BMW KTL 1600... The BMW is a 10 second machine with a stereo... I play with kids on their crotch rockets while jamming love songs through the stereo... they don’t understand shift points hahaha ???

My wife wanted a crotch rocket of her own... so I bought her a Vespa... she could barely handle the power, but she loved the color... ?
