Hi Matt, I sold the truck for something else last May. At that point, they were still holding up just fine. They worked great for the price, and put out a good amount of light. No complaints up to the point of sale.
I learned to drive on our old willys jeep. Then rebuilt a cj5 with my dad and grandfather in high school (that I still have, and likely always will), and now I have a mustang and motorcycle I play with. I've always loved everything manual. It seems though, the older I get (32 yesterday), the...
If I could get 40 mpg's for 20k in this thing I would consider replacing my winter beater with it. Would make me a great hockey practice commuter (45 mins one way, 3 times a week) for the kids with just a simple tonneau cover. I like it!
I documented elsewhere that I traded in my 19 ranger. I figured the dealer would just buy it and ship it off somewhere. They paid me 34k for it. They listed it for 34,900 and had it sold in less than a week. They didn't even detail it or fix the tire rock chips before the listing. Market is...
Sold it ( yesterday ). I loved my ranger, most things anyway, but just couldn't pass up the resale value. I have no doubt the ranger would have pulled my new camper okay, but I feel better with the increased towing capacity. Thank you all for the information, great pictures, and laughs. I'll...
Thank you for the kind words. People like you and @Tracy Bowman, and many, many others here are a good reminder that there are still nice, positive, decent folks in this world. Especially when it comes to internet forums
Thanks for the information, Chris. I'll be the first to admit that new car buying is rarely a wise decision. I've just always been a guy that likes to have new vehicles. Some people don't care, and that's absolutely fine with me. The fact that I was able to be this far right side up on the...
I've always wanted a wrangler, too. I have my '68 cj-5 though that I built with my dad and grandfather. That one will be one that I'll never part with. I MIGHT pass it on to the boy one day if I can bring myself to do it ha.
Thanks for the information. I did a bit of research and saw some of the common issues. My take is that a lot of manufacturers have issues, you just gotta hope you get a good one. If not, lemon law and warranties have to step in. My wife and I are just finishing up a lemon law case on her Kia...
I can report back after I get the paperwork and have some hard and fast figures. The 53k is before incentives and my equity though, so that number is inflated quite a bit. It stickers for 53, I'm not paying that. Same loan term length.
Ha I wanted this one because there was no chrome! I gotta change out the chrome lug nuts. I don't understand that with black wheels. And I've already been searching for exhaust clips. I guess vehicle modding is an addiction, regardless of brand ha.
To be honest, I'm not entirely sure. I haven't signed the paper work yet. I owed a little less than 30 on the truck, I got 34 for it. The ram stickered at 53 I think. I'm not positive the dollar amount on all the incentives. I just knew what the payment was coming out to.
Completely understand. The only thing that fits in my 70's garage is my motorcycle, mustang, and the Mrs.'s jeep. My ranger didn't even fit in the garage, pre-level kit. I've kicked around the idea of building a carport off the front of the garage, but I should probably quit spending money...
I love my ranger, but I couldn't pass up the deal. I got a quote out of curiosity from carvana for my xl ($29k) and then I tried vroom (31k). Good prices, but not enough to make me consider. My buddy is a business manager at a jeep / ram dealer. We just leased my wife's new jeep cherokee...
