A little off topic. Is anyone else's software updates disabled? Although I have software updates enabled on the truck my dashboard at Ford.com says it is disabled.
Mine says the same thing!

Ford says I have update v. 3.4.23088 available, but when I downloaded the update, it was still v. 3.4.22251. Anyone else seeing that 3.4.23088 is available?
After seeing your post Robert, I checked the SYNC Build in the truck. It showed Build 22251 and that it was up to date. I then logged onto Ford's website. The website says my truck is up to date with Build 23088. So confused....

Strange indeed. Do you have navigation?

Are the people that are having issues trying to update via wifi? I could never get an update to work over wifi on my 17 Mustang or on the one try on my 21 Ranger. It's always been pretty smooth over USB though.

I would think the truck info would be more accurate than the website.
Did you do a USB update? This is from the auto install file in the latest upgrade package. Notice the first line, Release 3.4.22251 - Only for NonNav/NonEU, I believe if you don't have navigation you will get this upgrade package instead of Build 23088. Could you post your auto install file?

; SYNC3 Consumer Assembly Upgrade - Release 3.4.22251 - Only for NonNav/NonEU assemblies.

I posted here back on 3-19 about the dealer screwing up my SYNC and had to order a APIM module, well it finally came in yesterday 5-1, the back counter parts guy say he has to order several APIM modules across all the model lines every week.
He said the supplier AER has had problems with everything, the parts failing and everything is on backorder.
I sure hope it fixes it, it will be the 2nd APIM since I've had the truck.

Is the APIM a module or a chip? Could a DIYer install it do you think?

I wonder the same thing, how deep in the dash it is, or if it's under the console, who knows, maybe I will ask.

What is the APIM & what does it do? I was attempting to update my maps a few days ago and after 3 failed attempts, I discovered that the ESN on the radio and ESN on the SYNC web page are different. Neither SYNC or Ford customer service had any idea how they can be different, or how they got mixed up. Because the map download is licensed to the ESN on the web page, the radio throws an error code.

So at this point I can't update anything, and Ford Customer service told me to go to the dealer and have them reprogram the "module" per GSM21-7122.

How sad that “this” is even a “thing”. Between every time I drive second guessing is my truck is “bucking / surging”, wondering if I need a “catch can”, feeling lucky (?) that I paid for an engine cover that Ford “deleted” and hopeful my spark plugs won’t “rust” into the engine when I wash the truck. Oh and hopeful my windshield won’t fall out or leak (still haven’t addressed that recall because I’m terrified of what damage may occur when they “fix” that problem) and now I have to worry a software update might screw up a hardware “module”?

“Built Ford Tough”. ?

From my vehicle maintenance log:
01-19-23 6,007 miles
Updated SYNC from Build 22200 to Build 22251 using the software download from Ford website onto a thumb drive. Received the XML file after the update was complete (about 20 minutes). Uploaded the XML file to Ford.

Now Software Updates Disabled has disappeared from my Ford.com Dashboard. But I still have the SYNC update listed even though I already updated it via USB. I asked my doctor, who drives a Tesla Model S, if if has ever had an update problem with his car. He said not that he remembers in the three years he has owned it. Are the Tesla software engineers that much smarter than Ford's?
