My daughter drives the Ranger to school 100 miles away
Lost me at this...

My wife can drive my Ranger if she has too. And I'll do my best to act like I am not freaked out. Anyone else in the drivers seat? Oh hell no.

Neighbor needs to borrow my truck? Fine. But you are borrowing the driver too.

My wife has driven mine once, and it was because circumstances forced her to. I couldn't even get her to sit in the drivers seat til that day.

Wouldn't be surprised if that was from dinging an adjacent vehicle's mirror in a parking lot. Something I always have to be careful about.

Which leads me to two rants- Why do vehicles today have mirrors that stick out so far? Things would be much better by keeping them closer to the body, which current mirror technology certainly allows for (OK, I know trailer towers and others may need them further out, but that could be accommodated while not requiring it for the 90% rest of us who don't need it). Secondly, the front door detent on the Ranger sucks- it's either halfway open or completely open with no stops in between. Just doesn't work in today's crowded parking lots. Shame on Ford.
The door detent is my #1 pet peeve...you're right, it's pretty useless...the first detent is not wide enough to get in/out...the second is full open...I put a small dent on my door against a car mirror next to me due to the extra wide swing...costed me $90 for PDR...a detent between the two would've been too thoughtful...

We were at the neighbors for dinner last night. They said something about needing a truck but decided not to ask me. The Warden proceeded to regale them with tales of my Ranger love. And of course she had to include comments about all of the times she has busted me in the garage looking at my truck.

She ended up telling them that I would gladly help them with any "need a truck to pick this up" type events... but there would be a driver included with the truck. I couldn't deny anything she said.

Ranger love. It's real.

My Ranger is a family workhorse, not something that I cling to.

Now if you want to wear my running shoes, there will be a fight.

See, this is why we donā€˜t need those fancy memory presets for the seat position. Ron Popiel said it best.

I hate letting my wife use the Ranger. But if I want to use her Edge while the Ranger is in the shop, I need to suck it up. And yes, she likes it.

I'm too old a fart to be concerned about anything that might happen while she's driving it, and she loves her Subi....it's just she doesn't enjoy driving the Ranger. As she says..."it just doesn't fit me".
So, no problem from me !!!!

I must have some strange women in my family.. my youngest daughter wants a truck like daddy, her older sister wants a Range Rover (she currently has a little power wheel Range Rover she loves, but dang it what honey why!?), my mom wants a truck (because of pop’s current health situation their current option is the Maverick.), and last but absolutely not least Wifey loves driving the Ranger (initially she was intimidated by the size difference since she daily drives a ostrich egg sized Nissan versa note.) ever since we road tripped from SF Bay Area to Reno Nevada to Tucson Arizona…(she put a good amount of time behind the wheel on that trip and she said she feels so so much safer driving the larger yet easily managed vehicle.) this benefits me in the long run since it’s leading to a Ranger Raptor… (although i recently got to drive a friends gen 1 Raptor F150, I’m back in indecision ((to a degree)) brand new technology heavy Ranger Raptor brilliance vs used gen 1 Raptor F150 closer to the basics and awesomeness…I’m sure you all can see my dilemma here.. I got 16 months to figure it out though.)
Can’t lose anyway our 5th gen ain’t going anywhere lol…
Long story short if wifey wants to drive the truck wifey gets to drive the truck… i probably could’ve just said that and been done with it?… if something happens to the vehicle..as long as no one is hurt, no big deal the vehicle can be repaired or (worst case) replaced.

THIS!, She drives a Prius, and she can't park that, I wouldn't want her driving MY truck!
