It is very hard to bypass the apim in these trucks. It ties in to everything. The easiest way is a very expensive tablet type system that incorporates the processing of the apim.
The heavy 33" E rated 10 plies are all I run. C,xl and sl's cannot handle the mesquite thorns of New Mexico desert and south Texas. So the fuel mileage trade off is worth it. All depends on what you do with your truck. Mine traverses BLM roads with lots of sand and thorns out chasing quail as...
There is a member on the ST forum that cant get past the message on the screen telling him to call and purchase the connectivity package. I've made up my mind I won't own that vehicle long enough to deal with it. Already see that purchase as a total mistake and have a customer complaint case...

Yes, you can correct the speedometer with forscan however it will set a communication code as what we can set doesn't satisfy the pcm. My speedo is correct and the code doesn't turn on the light so without a scan you'll never know it exist's
I just figured with the shipping costs now that it would make them out of reach. There was a thread about it on here but I don't have any links anymore.
I've had my Ranger in a very similar situation drove out the other side and kept going. Never had any charging problems. Maybe I just got lucky as it's happened 3 or 4 time out chasing birds through the fields.
