I dropped DirecTv because of that game.
Update: Just got Sirius to drop the rate on two cars to $4.99 each. Thanks for letting me know.

Since you use Spotify, just connect your phone to the truck via USB and use Android Auto or CarPlay and ignore the Sirius all together.

Sometimes I'm too lazy to plug in and just use the regular Bluetooth. Usually this is for short rides. I turn on the radio and have to scroll through am x3,fm x3 and xm x3 before I get to BT. Wear and tear on that button less eyes off the road haha.

I was able to disable XM via Forscan (Clicking it does nothing) but it still shows as a source. For all the spam calls these jags have left me I want it erased from all existence.

Gotcha.

For me it's just a habit of getting in starting the truck, and plugging the phone in. This is probably because getting the Spotify or Pandora app to be available via bluetooth consistently has been challenging. Not to mention the audio quality is far better via USB than over bluetooth.

Can’t you just use the voice button and tell it to go to bluetooth?

That's IMO the bad thing about XM. You need to almost threaten to leave every year to get the good rate. There is also too much talking between songs. Years ago the music stations were just music, period. My radio has the name of the band and song listed. I don't need the DJ pointing out their shoe size. I keep a reminder in my calendar just for renewing XM.
Wife and I are both on $5/month plan after waiting a long time to renew after the trail ended. It ends up at $6/month with fees (per vehicle). At that price, it is worth it to us. Note that we often drive outside of FM radio and/or cell service, so SXM is useful.

I agree about the DJ talking. I don't recall SXM had as much talking between songs years ago. It is annoying. I wish they would get rid of all the human DJs on the music channels and just play music. I listen to a mix of channels, but particularly the Kenny Chesney and Garth Brooks channels have way to much talking, but even the pop/rock ones are bad now :(

I have had Sirius since I first had a Sirius radio in my new Jeep purchased the end of 2011. I use to hate fighting them at the renewal time to get a good rate. Now, however, I have Sirius in all three of my vehicles and I just renewed again for another year. No fight or argument from them anymore though; I just call the regular number and ask to renew for $5 per month. No problem. Just need to renew before the expiration date.

I will keep that in mind. Thanks. Sometimes online just doesn’t cut it. I’ll call next time.

I was looking at their website for info on the various subscriptions available. I did find out that what I have on the 3 month free trial is their "All Access" subscription. Is that the one you are getting for $5/month, I assume for 12 months?? I like the Yacht Rock station and I saw that doesn't come with the more basic plan (I think they call it the Essential plan).

I get the $5/month for 12 months offer at least once a month in the mail. Anything more than that, NO!

"I just removed it as a source on my SYNC3. It is a simple Forscan change to the APIM as-buildt.

APIM 7D0-01-01 Dxxx xxxx xxxx
decrease the number in "D" by 2. If it is a 2 make it 0, if it is A make it 8.

Bingo no more SiriusXM as a source. Won't stop the snailmail or phone calls but should stop it from jumping to it on startup."

Found using a couple different searches. I believe this is from BigBlue. THANKS!

If I remember the credit actually goes to @RCMUSTANG for finding it. It's been awhile and I couldn't find where I posted it. Enjoy everyone. Needs to get put back in the WIKI.

It wasn't in the wiki from what I could find. Had to search for it a few times using different keywords. It should be its own stickie! Do we have a how to thread for various DIY mods?

Someone (can't remember who) has been editing the first post in the WIKI to organize it. This item must have been left out during an update.
