Each time one of my designated favorite artist/song becomes available to listen to, I get the normal popup message and an alert tone. Lately it seems this tone "a double ding ding" is quite loud and I can't seem to find anyway to lower or mute the volume of this alert tone. This could possibly apply to the navigation voice as it is louder than the music level, so I have it muted most of the time. Anyone have any ideas or suggestions. I hope that the adjust is not in Forscan as I don't have access to that.....

From what I've seen the alerts are all the same. If you turn the volume up or down during a navigation prompt it adjusts all of them.

If it's tied to the Nav you'll have to adjust it while the tone is going off

This really annoys me, because good luck if you accidentally turn the volume way down on the tones. Next thing you know, you're missing all sorts of things, but the only way to turn it up is to know when it's making one of these tones (or the nav guidance) so you can turn it back up. Why is this not in the settings somewhere?

There really should be a volume adjustment in the settings, this happened to me once too. I was turning the volume down for the radio and the Nav just happened to come on at the same time which turned it all the way to 0. Now I'm driving around having to watch the screen for the turns instead of the road. What I did was set the Nav to home and as soon as it started it's first command (I guessed) I turned the volume back up.

I figured this out after going mad for a few weeks. The SiriusXM notifications / NAV loudness falls under the prompt volume setting.

You can either wait for it with lightning fast reflexes to turn it down/up or...

Go to bluetooth to add a phone. While she is talking, turn the volume to what you like. Shows prompt value setting while adjusting.

Wah lah!

You can also press ‘OK’ while in a navigation route to make the last prompt repeat. Then adjust the volume while it is playing.

Thanks for the replies guys, I drove the Ranger to church this morning and on my way home I selected my home address and as soon as the notification came up for the next turn, I was able to lower the volume as everyone recommended. What a great forum we have here and also a bunch of knowledgeable guys and gals, I am learning something new every day.

Looking forward to Wednesday, having local shop install the new Bilstein 5100 up front, I installed the rears a month ago.

I started my truck last night & a song came on I liked. I was turning up the volume for that but on the screen I was adjusting prompt volume. Have never even had that appear before. Could not find a setting anywhere to turn it back down. Was getting very loud, annoying chimes for Sirius XM notifications. The add a phone trick & turning the volume down while she is talking truck worked!! Thank you.
