We had a cold snap overnight and I went for my morning driving. Temperature 37 degrees. When I was driving at 65mph, I was going to pass some vehicles. I started signaling and this jerk in the other lane start speeding up so I started speeding up and my ranger was hesitating on going faster, it's usually not a problem. I was on a quarter of a tank of gas. I still got in front of the guy and started cleaning my windshield then went back to the right lane. The guy passed me and gave me a thumbs up lol but didn't look at me. I live in texas but not originally from here and have to deal with annoying drivers all the time.

Just wondering what caused the hesitation, I thought the ranger drives better when it's cooler out. It had time to warm up also.

Sounds like it was just turbo lag. You were probably just cruising at 65 and not into the boost so when you nailed it it took a second (or two) to kick in. As far as annoying drivers we're full of them here too!

Peddle commander or a tune will straighten that right out. As others have pointed out, slight delay before spool up of turbo. After a while you get use to the delay and plan for it. Or dump it in sport mode and punch the skinny pedal! ?
