Those LT tires are heavier but if you haul heavy stuff or tow a lot I would keep them on. I don't do either andI have the Ridge Grapplers and really like them. You can see my average mpg below in my sig (21.8) and I do a combined 65/35 city/highway driving. Getting the Livernois tune has helped increase mine about 2 mpg.
Yeah I don't tow a damn thing lol.
Just my dirt bike pretty much. Was more of a spur of the moment decision. Also at the time I didn't realize ridge grapplers came in a single load...... Oh well, live and learn right.

Yup I have a co worker that has the ridge grapplers and they like them a lot as well. They have them in LT.
About how much does that tune cost?? And is it just increasing torque pretty much?? Which in turn will rotate a larger tire more easily.

The Livernois tune is $500 and you can get all 5 of their tunes which are 87-89 & 91-93 soft shift, 87-89 & 91-93 performance and the tow tune. I'm using the 91-93 performance tune and they say it adds 80hp/100tq with 93 octane.

I'd rather know who doesn't care about gas mileage. I didn't even know what I was getting before I installed the tires.
Really not concerned - taller, wider, heavier tires, 2-1/2” level, steps, flares, 6’ canopy, air dam delete - more drag than Ru Paul.

Just out of curiosity, are you guys recalibrating the speedo? Maybe compensating for tire size when you do your mpg calculations?

As long as some of us have taken the time and effort to recalibrate it yes most of us have done so.

Mine has been recalibrated using this post here. Before this I was almost 1.5 mpg off but the last two fill ups have been dead on perfect.

I went from 23.8 MPG highway stock (best I've ever gotten) up in Colorado near Denver while on vacation to 19 MPG with a 2.5" level lift and 265 70 R17 tires. Generally I'm 17 city/19 highway now. Which is about what my old 2011 Ranger was.

Last trip up to Iowa with a good tail wind I was getting 20 mpg at 70 mph. I think this truck in its current form could get 21+mpg highway if it was completely flat with the cruise control on and I was going slower around 50-60mph.

Being honest... I don't know how some of you are getting highway MPG in the mid 20s with larger tires, a lift and having 4x4.

Yeah it's crazy how some are getting really good mpg and others are not. I have a similar set up as yours but a 2'5" level and tuned and I'm averaging 21.8. My best highway was 26.1 same day round trip set to 75 mph.

Well for me it does help that I have a tune from Livernois and still try to keep a modest foot while driving. Of course all sorts of weather conditions can change the MPG quite a bit

Right?? Is it flat were you are doing this? You got 26 MPG highway with a similar setup as mine going 75mph. Unreal. I'm wondering if my fuel system is running rich or if yours is running lean?? I'm baffled as to why there is this big of a difference.

Yes it was mainly flat the whole way which was from AZ-MX near Yuma,AZ. There were a couple areas where you get off the highway and go through a small town for maybe 3 miles but I would say 90% highway driving. My speedo is calibrated and this matched my Fuelly app too. IDK if the tune compensates for all this which I think it does but I know I've gained about 2 mpg driving it "normal".

How many people are calibrating the speedometer for the new tire size AND the trip computer for mpg....Makes me wonder seeing 10 mpg difference between similar set ups.

Mines dropped to 18-19 mpg since adding a 3.5 inch lift and 275/55R20 AT tires
