  1. Vibration from climate control fan

Quite the Mcguiver you are .... nice job!
  2. Colorado STX Wheels and tires

I have a set of 4 STX 17" aluminum wheels with Bridgestone tires. They are 255/65R 17. They have recently been balanced and have tpms sensors installed and center hubs. I have no use for these, I actually tried them on the new to me F-150 and although the bolt pattern was correct, there was a...
  3. So Long, Farewell .... Finally caved to the dealers "Pressure"

Okay, guess it officially good bye. The truck was delivered today with a full tank of gas and a voucher for $500 towards my next set of tires for my "inconvenience". It's why I keep coming back to them. They understand the importance of customer service. Truck runs just as silky smooth as it...
  4. So Long, Farewell .... Finally caved to the dealers "Pressure"

I use McKeys 37 ... definitely a pain to do, but, lasts forever ... well ... 2.75 years so far ... My trike is black an a pain to keep clean. I like riding it, not cleaning it, but I do like it to pop! The ceramic pretty much causes the dirt especially the bugs to not "stick". My local car was...
  5. So Long, Farewell .... Finally caved to the dealers "Pressure"

I'm fairly certain the "detailing" is running it through their touch free car wash ... LOL ... but they are gonna get the teenager into the bed and get the dust out ... which is all I really care about. My first step in buying a new to me vehicle is a good cleaning, clay bar and then a good...
  6. So Long, Farewell .... Finally caved to the dealers "Pressure"

Update: Apparently the sales person either misunderstood or had her head in a dark place when she talked to her service manager. The issue with the "Turbos" was simply a lower than normal boast on one of the turbos (probably carbon). The issue with the "Timing Chain" is a tiny leak on the...
  7. So Long, Farewell .... Finally caved to the dealers "Pressure"

Just got an update on my truck. The "bad turbos" is one that has to be cleaned, there its carbon. The "timing chain being bad" is a tiny leak on the timing chain cover. The big issue is the local Ford dealer is backed up until mid to late November. My dealer offered to detail the truck, make...
  8. ForScan platform?

If anyone is interested ... found it ... LOL https://www.amazon.com/Windows-Fusion5-Ultra-Tablet-Cameras/dp/B07W6QYX8G/ref=pd_lpo_1?pd_rd_i=B07W6QYX8G&psc=1
  9. Carrying Extra Gas

I use the Roto Pax ... 5 gallon for the truck, 2 one gallons for the Harley trike. Started using these because they are fume less. Fumes in the trunk of the trike can be bad ... LOL.
  10. So Long, Farewell .... Finally caved to the dealers "Pressure"

Not sure yet. The truck ran silky smooth during the 40 miles test drive. Good news ... I still have the Ranger, so I'm not driving a POS rental or worse ... walking ? Update: Ford is doing the repairs (5year 50k warranty), and they just called. They will be replacing the timing gear and both...
  11. So Long, Farewell .... Finally caved to the dealers "Pressure"

Update: Just got a call from the dealer. The timing chain is bad, and there is a bad turbo. They have sent the truck to Ford to make the repairs. Hopefully, I will no be a victim of supply chains. but, I'm prepped if I am.
  12. So Long, Farewell .... Finally caved to the dealers "Pressure"

Officially still a Ranger driver (Not sure if I'm an owner still ... LOL), the F-150 didn't get done today ... I may make them wait awhile ... they can't sell my Ranger if I'm driving it ... LOL ... I can be busy too! (who am I kidding ... I really want to start moving out the F-150 ...)
  13. How long for the Ranger smile to fade?

Apparently about 9 months for me ... LOL ... I really enjoyed the Ranger, it was just a tad tight for an old big boy like me. See my post in So Long, Farewell. LOL.
  14. So Long, Farewell .... Finally caved to the dealers "Pressure"

Been doing some research ... of F-150.com ... I read about the freezing door latch and the dealer is gonna make sure it's done I really fell in love with the amount of cabin front room ... the rear is just ridiculous ... LOL. The pup got tethered to the front seat belt for the test ride...
  15. So Long, Farewell .... Finally caved to the dealers "Pressure"

PS ... I learned so much here and thoroughly enjoyed being a member. I may pop in from time to time to see how it's going. I'll be joining a F-150 forum ... need. to see what forscan mods I can do ... LOL ... although, someone, guessing the PO, has already disabled led the start/stop thing.
  16. So Long, Farewell .... Finally caved to the dealers "Pressure"

Well, I've talked about this before where the dealer calls offering me just about anything for my Ranger. Today he called and told me he would give me $36,500 towards anything on the lot. He didn't have anything that really floated my boat. To be honest, about the only thing that would entice...
  17. Poor towing experience

To the OP .... an totally off topic, but, your towing about the same weight I will be and I'm curious, what kind of mpg's are you getting? Back to the towing question, I'm towing an 1100 pound enclosed utility with about 400# added weight and in it I put a 1300# Harley TriGlide. My trailer...
  18. Access keypad - I don’t get it!?!

I would love to have this. Instead, I had a key cut when I had the third fob programed (local mobile keys service). I keep the key in my wallet, and the third fob in a water tight bag with the battery removed hidden inside the truck. WHEN I loose a fob, and it will happen, as long as I don't...
  19. Truck is broke...all sorts of things stopped working

+1 on disconnecting the battery then waiting a bit. When in doubt, don't scream and shout ... do a reboot ... LOL. I had similar issues with my trike. Weird electronic stuff. This was my first trike/bike with a can bus ... checked codes and all of them were "low voltage" on various things...
  20. Post those beautiful faces, don’t be shy

This is the day I bought my truck, the salesman made his first sale with me ... the sales manager (who I've bought from before) told me I go such a good deal because they wanted to get him his first sale. And that I was a repeat customer. They threw in a "lifetime warrantee ($500 deductible) and...
