I’ve already had mine replaced twice now and it’s not looking promising for the third. I wish an aftermarket company made one out of real leather.
Any local upholstery shop should be able to do it with little issue.

The problem with this is it's such a small job will they take it? The local guy I had do a seat for my bike stopped taking work for the year last APRIL. A seat recover runs $300-400 minimum so I would bet he wouldn't take a small job with a small profit margin. Upholstery shops are rare around here so it might be totally different from my experience.

That's good point; we have several mom and pop shops around me that would do it (as well as a few of the tailors) but I cam see where not everyone has that option.

Pretty much depends on the work load in the area. Around here there's lots of boats that are having tops an covers made and that's a big job that pays well so small jobs get blown off. Wish I knew how to do it I'd start a business lol.

My sewing skills aren't great but it's a simple job - cut the seams on the boot to separate the pieces, trace them to make patterns, cut new material using the patterns, do a hack job sewing them back together.

make sure you use a material that turns into cardboard when it gets cold :explode:

Searched for this issue as I noticed recently in the cold weather that parking lever is hard to put in release position. Then just today I noticed it starting to crack. I thought WTF? Only 13,000 miles and this thing is destined to disintegrate.

Any leather worker should be able to handle it. Doesn't need to be a upholstery shop or anything. If someone can trace a full size pattern of it I would imagine it would be an easy job

Email response was a no go
I got mine replaced under warranty - just realized they didn't know how to install it properly. And its the same stiff crappy material. How much more could i cost to use the same material as the shifter boot!?

Its kinda ridiculous when the boot material is so stiff it restricts the E-brake lever movement.

Will reach out to Redline
Any luck with Redline?

I was poking around the E-brake boot on my ride home trying to see if I could get it fold differently when cycled and minimize the already forthcoming crack. Pressing down around it, I felt and heard it move down and make a click noise. Like part of it was not completely seated. Probably won't help the cracking but thought that was curious.
