Corporate drone. Dilbert's world is alive & well.
BTW, I am not averse to opening the hood, I do it quite often. That was not called for.
I like opening the hood. Gives me a chance to admire the hood struts I installed. :sunglasses:

Sorry about the typo, as for making the effort, I am retired, I like to wrench, I drink beer when I wrench, and my wife leaves me alone when I wrench, so there are a lot of pluses.
This!

Hard to argue that, I guess.
But "I think I threw a rod" has to be a close second.
Well, that and the "too high ass end."

My 2019 has 22,077 miles on it. Before retiring, I ran that in one year. I do watch the miles to tell me when to change the oil, usually happens around 5-6k. I also watch for when my ranger says to change the oil. The two often agree for me.

I often let Ford Do the oil change and whatever else is due to be maintained at that moment. When I’m under the weather, my wife will take it to one of those quick oil change places. I always check the oil several times when that has occurred (once) to make sure the oil cap hasn’t fallen off. She takes her car to a quick oil change place and has yet to have a problem.

when I was well, I did all the car maintenance in the house, at home. Brakes included. I sure do miss that. Now I pay a lot more letting others do it. :(

That’s it, you really don’t know if you’re draining good oil out or burned oil with failing properties and contaminates unless you’re testing it.
So true, but I don't care if I'm throwing out good oil. The peace of mind is worth it with 5K OCI.

if it will help anyone else sleep at night, they can change the oil on my truck - i'll pop the hood and leave it in the driveway.

Otherwise, OLM (effectively 10K) works.

I do appreciate when techs give their qualified, engineering opinions
?

Which techs? The pseudo techs here or the Ford service techs? Because they suggested every 5K. Not the service writer that works on commission, the techs that actually work on the vehicles.

dealers will happily stick "come back in 5K" on your car. They make money on service...

It's not exclusive to automotive forums either. Go to any firearms forum and ask what type of oil/lube to use on your guns and watch the chaos issue.
A neck and neck race with “ best defense caliber “ ??
