Hey all,

I’m almost at 56k miles on my 2019 XLT. I drive it pretty gently and don’t drive it much as I ride my bike to work almost every day. I’ve put about 29k miles on it in about 40 months.

I noticed my engine doing these little stutters when I’m idling and my brother in law mentioned taking a look at my spark plugs.

Is there any other maintenance (necessary or preventative) that you guys recommend at this mileage?

I went to change my brakes recently, but realized they were still good. Might get some new tires soon as well.

Thanks in advance!

If you haven't done it already, in addition to the plugs and DPFE sensor I'd do a drain and fill on the transmission fluid. Might also want to change the rear end and transfer case fluids, although mine looked pretty good.

You'll want to replace the wire loom support 'hose' near the fan clutch. That seems to be a part that disintegrate regardless of miles and more about age. It could lead to catastrophic damage to the wire harness.

Differential oil, transmission filter/fluid, brake fluid and coolant might be due or past due if you want max life out of the truck. Lubeguard Platinum in the transmission is a good enhancement although checking the transmission fluid level is most accurate if you have the dipstick from Mike's Build Shop aka the Fitzstick.

I doubt your plugs urgently need replacement yet - I'm sure you are on your second battery by now..

My 2021 Ranger (5 years old this month) is ready to turn 150,000 miles in a week or so. It has had every single service recommended by Ford and goes in every 5000 miles for whatever it needs. Up till last month, it has performed absolutely trouble free and the first “broke fix” issue in over 148,000 miles was a noisy driveshaft center support bearing. I had the dealership install a new OEM driveshaft. I can’t even complain at that mileage and am very happy with this truck. With 60 plus years in maintenance, I’m a firm believer in how well you take care of the machine determines how well the machine takes care of you. I may be into overkill but attached is a short list of the maintenance performed on mine just for your review.

If you're like me, your brakes should last you well over 100K miles...I'm at 150K and still on original pads...

Woodworker,
This is Good stuff!!! a great tickler check list. with only 33800 miles, I'm not there yet , but working on it.
I did do a swap on the tranny fluid . I'll do another at 65000 mi. and considering a switch from using LV fluid toULV .
Next oil change switch oil to 10W-30 or maybe 10W-40. vs 0w20. It get hotter than hell in in South GA.

Thanks for the good scoop.!

You already have ULV in the transmission and that's what you should stick with.
