Have you pulled one off to see of its mating the wheel properly. I haven't found any gorilla lugnuts that have the proper bulge where it seats against the wheel. I know a tapered nut will hold it, but won't have the proper hold that the bulge taper will provide.
Yes, I've had the wheels off more than once plus multiple sets of tires and rotations. Gorilla has confirmed that these are the right lugs for our setup as well.

I purchased some on Amazon and they are so cheap feeling I sent them back. Some sort of aluminum or CCP pot metal. I wanted a grayish color to match the truck and wheels but still strong. I have some black lug nuts now and they must have been dang cheap as the finish came off and they are rusting. The picture is what I just ordered to replace them, not a whole of options for the color I want.

Mine from lug nut guys came 4 short. It’s taken a bit of work on my part over two weeks, but I think they are finally sending the last 4. I doubt they will be here in time for my trip, so I’m stuck with trying one more rotation on the slipping factory nuts. Hope I don’t have a flat. I have Continental Terrain Contact A/T tires on and have had two flats. I hadn’t had flats in years until I got these. Both times on the rear. Once in Livingston, TX and once in Tucson, AZ. It’s not overloaded, I’ve weighed, but it’s 90% there for payload.

I purchased black 1 piece replacements about 4 years ago, based on a recommendation on this forum. After this winter, they are terrible rusted. Is 4 years a reasonable amount of time for them to last before rusting? Anyone run blacks longer than that with no rust? Looking for a new set... 45k 2019 Lariat

Took my 2019 in for service and the dealership said they couldn't rotate the tires because the stupid 2pc lugnuts have expanded and they couldn't get them off. Interesting, as I got new tires 2 months previous at a tire shop. Dealer quoted me ~200 for a replacement set and not sure if they are 1 or 2pc style.

So I'm looking for a set of replacement 1pc lugnuts that are still the same size to fit the factory lug wrench. Anyone have a source for QUALITY replacements?
I've known about the issues with the 2 piece lug nuts for a while - just sort of brushed it aside. I was at Discount Tire with my wife's car a few weeks ago. A customer was in there with a car, the tech told her they couldn't get the lug nuts off. Decided then that I wasn't going to fall victim to this issue. I had them order new lugnuts for my Ranger. I don't know what brand they were, but did just select the zinc finish - $55.

Bought 20 lug nuts yesterday. Not for my Ranger, but relevant to this discussion. Was rotating the tires on our Focus ST. Remembered that I had one lug nut that I was going to have to be careful with. Well the joke is on me. On the first tire I ran into issues with 3 of the 5 lug nuts. (My fault! Car is 12 years old and these are the original lug nuts.) Anyway, O’Reillys had Dormans in stock. During my online research I discovered that the ST uses the same size lug nut as our Rangers. Just fewer.

Bought 20 Dormans at $7 each. I was very pleased with them during the tire rotation and new nut install. At some point soon I’m going to go ahead and buy replacements for my blue beauty. Not going to make the same “they’re still good” mistake again.

based on my initial experience I’d definitely recommend the Dormans.

$140 for lug nuts? Wow I only paid like $70 for a set of black for my ranger.

Military discount cushioned it a bit, but yea, $7 each. I may shop for a bargain for underwear. Or some non-critical widget. Mechanical parts for my vehicle? Never. But that’s just me.

Update:

Proactively ordering new lug nuts for the blue beauty. (Don’t want to be in a “Gotta have ‘em now!” jam as I was before with my ST.) Rockauto, package of 40 Dorman’s for $104.80, or $2.62 each. (Yea, $7 each at O’Reillys.) Buying 2 - 10 packs and 4 singles would be $96.36 so 40 it is.

I’ll give the extras to my son-in-law. He can then just buy 8 more.

anyway, just want to share the cost with you folks. Pretty good deal as long as you plan ahead.

Just to add options, I went with Dorman as they pass some US test, etc. BUT ... they are made in China and do rust. =(

Rust Remover cleans them up, but the chrome isn't very thick (probably doesn't help that I max out my pneumatic impact wrench either).
