I have a black appearance package truck.....and it's nearly all blacked out except for the headlights, side markers, tail lights.....and bright shiny lug nuts. I also suspect that the 2nd or 3rd time they get hit with an impact wrench, they're going to start flaking the plating off of them like they did on my last Ford.

Any guidance on buying black lug nuts?

It was a decently argued topic with my F250 and F150's when using the stock wheel, you had to have a certain profile that had more contact surface area or something like that. I'm not changing wheels, just tire size, so it's the perfect time to get this swapped.

F150's have a larger surface area "acorn" on the OEM wheels. I'm assuming the Rangers do as well, because the black lug nuts on Stage3's website very openly point out that their lug nuts are NOT for factory wheels.

There is another thread on this subject. Just make sure the black ones are for the Ranger 12mm X 1.50 and come in a quantity of 24. I found mine on Ebay and saw black ones there too, but only quantity of 20.

You can get what ever brand as long as they are M12-1.5 with a 60 deg seat. Gorilla black chromed spline nuts or something similar would be perfect.

I picked up set from. https://mcgard.com/
Type of lug depends of the wheels you have. For my truck it was Part No. 64015 ---- verify that they will fit your truck!

Hi J,

I do not think this style has the needed footprint of a Ford Lug nut... I saw these and since it appears the edges of the hex flats are almost the same diameter of the round part before the cone, I decided to pass on these in the 14mm x 1.5 needed for my Lincoln Nautilus.

Got these with my wheels from carid. Couldn't find them separate from the wheel, but they work great

Hi Bruce,

Those lug nuts look perfect.

I purchased special sockets for my breaker bar and torque wrench that have inserts to protect the lug nut and the wheel. Not for use with an air impact wrench. Price is right IMO.

I ordered these from Gorilla via Amazon. Everything I found, indicated they were correct.

Worst part was that they only came in 20pc packs. So I’m gonna have 16 spare lug nuts.
