So as I am sure most people here including myself would like the option of a bigger fuel tank for offroad adventures or perhaps you dont want to stop as much on the road. Currently I am in the works with a company from Australia to get such to happen. Prices on the fuel tanks would be unknown at this time but if we can get enough support I'm sure we can get a nice group buy too happen. I want your input on this guys!! Lets make this a possible thing!!

So what's the word on this project then?

I emailed a company in Australia about this awhile back. BrownDavis.com

Their response -

"Yes we can freight to the US via DHL. Your price for the tank would be $1090.00 AUD plus ~$1000.00 AUD in freight. The lead time of this tank is 10-12 weeks from order until it is ready for dispatch."

That's for their 150 liter tank (~40 gallons)

I didn't pursue because I'm not ready to make that sort of modification to my truck with 5,000 miles on it. Maybe down the road.

I would be very interested to hear how the experience goes, if anyone does put a larger tank on their 19+ Ranger

Another thing is the chassis is completely different between Australia to the US. It would be a fat chance for that tank to fit and the fact that it's not meant for gasoline.

You mean the piece of plastic behind the back seat that takes 10seconds to grab? It’s not a big deal nor does it bother me.
Anyone have a picture of this? my truck does not have one..

it’s a white small funnel above the jack. It just clips to some fabric back there

When are you getting a new Ranger? Are you going to wait for the 2023?

wtruthwhen is a good question. Main thing is pay my debt off first. After that I should be set to get another Ranger and most likely it will be the next generation(lets face it, it looks better in a lot of ways).

I have no idea nor do I care how a gas tank thread turned into a pissing contest about lifts/levels.

I’d love a larger maybe 25gal fuel tank but I just carry the plastic 5gal fuel cans instead.
Because Frenchy.

No response yet on this project, I’m going to expand my search to more vendors. FWIW, the majority of gas (non-diesel) rigs that I’ve come across with extended range tanks are using a 2nd tank and pumping or gravity feeding into the OEM. I know that if I had the time, I could simply take measurements and design a tank myself and then it’s just a matter of going to a custom tank shop to fab it up. This isn’t rocket science, it’s a tank. Just need someone with the time and tools to take on the job.

I've done a bunch of trails too, and never had issues with my 'leveled' truck. Not wanting the tank to be the first point of contact, whether lifted or not, is legitimate.
hell, some of us don't want to die a fiery death even if we're not offroad. ?‍♂

That is a slight pain still because now you have fuel all over that funnel and it's going to carry the smell when you put it back in the cab.
Well then get yourself a pair of pink rubber gloves and a plastic bag. Put these with your funnel in case you are dumb enough to run out of gas.
