I saw the previous threads on the hose rotting and performed a preemptive strike on it a few months ago. Used 3/8" fuel hose in the strongest strength and two new hose clamps. The actual replacement is molded hose, but if you cut it a skosh longer, it's all good.
So, to confirm, you are all using just 3/8" fuel hose the normal bulk kind?

I ask because there is a pretty sharp 90 in the hose so my thought was to get a fuel hose that has a 90 and cut it to length.

What are you all doing for the preventative maintenance?

Yes bulk 3/8 fuel injection hose, I am just closely monitoring mine for deterioration.

Damn , did Peter Graves design these stupid hoses?
Laughing while thinking of the young folks in the forum going "What is he talking about? And what is that smoking thing in the pic?"

I wonder if Ford has an updated replacement hose that we could use as a preventive measure? Or is this a combination of bearing failure and hose failure?

Unsure at this point if a combo of both, but the only way to get the hose from Ford is by replacing the whole assembly. It is not a separate part number.
Current Price of the Fan Clutch Assy = $338.00 vs a few dollars for a short section of fuel line.

I love how ford managed to F*** up a simple door latch for their F150s, and then screw up a freakin fan clutch wire assembly. They''ve only been around for decades at this point.

Anyway, Nothing to contribute. Just wanted to observe yet another dumb failure and possible resolution. I don't even know what I'm monitoring for mine.. 16k miles in and the hose still looks fine to me which doesn't seem to matter.

Hmm, I wonder if a steel line and "break-away" style connectors could work.

You think that there is any possibility of simply installing an old manual clutch fan on the truck without doing too much brain surgery? I am sure that if you unplug that sensor error codes would be thrown. The question is whether they would be warning codes or cripple mode codes.

UPDATE:
Got the truck back today from the dealership. The final bill was $334 - that covered the deductible ($100) and a new battery (my request). It looks like they replaced the fan clutch, the fan clutch sensor, and the wiring harness.

Looks like a clean job John.
No more codes being thrown?
Was that your original battery?

Yeah, it looks pretty good. No more codes!

And the battery is original - 2019.

Did they give any indication as to why it failed?
Hose or Fan Clutch as Root Cause?

No indication and I got the sense that they didn't care about the why, and they were just happy to get the parts for everything and get it turned around quickly! ?

no thanks
From a couple of other posts, the hose seems to crack just before the clamp. Almost as if the hose had become hard and brittle and failed.

@airline tech ’s hp fuel line fix looks simple and sound - it should be easy to source the parts and do it in your driveway.

what is the purpose of the hose?
merely to hold wires to sensor?

It seems to simply be a bridge that keeps the wiring harness away from the serpentine belt, pulley, and fan.
