That happened to a good friend of mine after the first one. He developed ringing in his ears and still has it today.:(
Two years in April and not getting any better.

I'm just curious.
I keep seeing folks mentioning it and even see folks using FORscan to remove it, but I have a hard time believing this is a thing.
I don't have FORscan to see if it's an option to remove it, so I guess I can't rightly argue it's not a thing. But it just seems really weird that Ford would waste engineering time to put this in.
Enlighten me.
absolutely normal. this has been innovated to increase the acceptance of downsize sewing machines for penises. in europe there are masses of cars with lawnmower engines that are supposed to sound like the fattest V8s from the best big block days.

Dave, you know how it goes around here. Asked and answered on the first page (or two) then the rest goes downhill from there.

I got a borla exhuast, and my neighbor commented on the brabrabra and the sound of my exaust, he was standing on his driveway. I don't know if exhaust brought the true colors out and drowned out the fake one, or it was there all of the time.. mine does it light, middle and full throtle, my exhaust is the loudest on the market you can get that i know of..

Also i know borla makes a exhaust for the mach e to make it sound exactly like a roush mustang, ferrari, Camaro, ect.. it is done with computers and speakers, they tested it with different car clubs and found the borla exhaust was just as good if not more realistic.. things are getting really strange in car land..

I for one don't really care. I just enjoy my truck and don't worry about what others do.

I’ve turned it off. And turned it back in at one point to see if I liked it. And within a few days turned it back off. It’s not quite a V8 but maybe a robust V6 lol. I wish it was the real sound but it’s only for the driver. I also think it’s there to drown out the more mechanical noises that are less pleasant to the ears than the sound of an engine rumble. But it’s a thing. It’s real. Beyond a shadow of a doubt. I think you need to have a Sync 3 to have it so maybe a lower end trim won’t have it.

Good info. I believe ya.
Still just seems weird.
It's like a couple college interns at Ford presented this and Ford said, "What the hell, let's do it."?

Love your ride (obviously). Mine's Blue with the same hood/wind deflector. Great minds.... great minds.

Watching 2 Girls Garage on Motor Trend TV a couple weeks ago and they had a rep from a company that makes a active sound system for the Mach E Mustang.
S11/E11 titled 'Mach E vs Mustang', they do a 1/4 mile drag between the two cars..

Finally, the answer I was looking for. I have a 22 STX and can't seem to hear any fake engine noise so I suppose it is disabled on mine. Fine with me, I didn't expect a four cylinder to sound like anything else. I enjoy how quiet my truck is. I enjoy hearing that tiny bit of turbo whine when cruising around at low speeds though. At least I know THAT is a real sound...

the fake sounds are pretty obvious if you think it over. the semi satisfying sound of an engine you hear when stomping on the go pedal is not our lil sewing machine getting naughty. four bangers at full tilt sound very hollow raspy ricey and annoying. think 16 year old kid with a 28 year old honda civic. thats how the 2.3 sounds... sorry. true story. that is why im not doing anything to make the exhaust sound more audible. i like the truck. we are in a time of all sorts of fakes. fake sugar, fake news, fake truth, fake leather, fake boobs, fake women, fake ford warranty lol.
