Lets be real....I think it was actually freezing your tonsils to the back of your throat.

Breathing was short and quick as a result.

No thanks! I dealt with enough cold and freezing temps living back east. While not as cold as that it was cold enough. ?

Ford has a requirement that during new vehicle development we have to validate that the vehicle will start unaided at -40° (F or C is the same).. This test can be done in a cold room, but there is a driveability requirement so a vehicle test is required. We had a cold test facility in Bemidji Mn but later Moose Jaw Cn... Usually the cold would be in the very early morning, which meant getting up and on test around 2 to 3am... Then bed the test vehicles down for a cold soak and test in the early morning the next day and head for breakfast and some hot coffee... So much for the glamour of test engineering....

Same here, only use AC at night so I can sleep.

I have a little wood stove in a cabin and a BIG wood stove outside the house so the only thing heat costs is calories and some gas for the chainsaw. They are fun to use too.

Took the oldest kid on a roadtrip last week.

We stayed a couple of nights at a Holiday Inn Express.

First night there was a bit chilly. Thermostat for room was in the wall by her bed.

"Hey, what's it say the temperature is?"

"66."

"Kick it up to 71 will you?"

"Done."


The next morning when I got out of the shower I asked...

"Didn't you turn the heat up last night?"

"Yeah, it still says 66 though."

I looked at it, it's on cool, set to 71.

"Hey dumbass, you got to put it on heat if you want heat."

"Well, I don't know, I'm not allowed to touch the thermostat."


"Ok, good job kid."

Amazing that now that my kids have their own places that they keep the heat low and the lights off since they are paying for it. Never happened when they were at home.

winter 70 night and day > winter is mild in my area plus the gas furnace is cheap to run.
summer night and day 76 on the house thermostat. that cool enough to make it to the bed room with the window unit thats additional to the central system lol. the window units thermostat stays on 65 year round. Thank God for air conditioning. id give up toilet paper, internet, tv, and beef way ahead of a/c. summer here is humid and hot. leg ball all season... the kind of summer where you cant just get in the car and drive. if you just hop in the seats will roast your butt and the steering wheels too hot to hold comfortably.
