In the middle of a cold snap here in Northern Minnesota the first part of this week. Nothing like the "polar vortex" we had last February, but still not fun. Especially since we got 8+" of snow Monday morning. So now all that snow and ice is frozen in place and the roads are horrible.

Currently -16F, windchill of -36F, here at the airport in Duluth, Minnesota where I work.

Hi Phil,

It's funny that anything under 70 feels cold, heck even 70 is cold to me now. But when you have 4 months of 100+ temps you kind of get use to it. My nephew text me a picture this morning from back east,6 inches of snow and in the 20's...NO THANKS!

85 here yesterday but a cold front just rolled in and it plummeted down to 75.
LMAO!

Warm front moving in today which should bring temps to mid 30's. However, I'll be heading to McCall where it is 11, much better than the -2 yesterday..

It was -2F here this morning. Some of you guys gave me a "cup half full" outlook though. Coldest I've ever seen was -36F and you guys deal with that regularly?

TIME TO MOVE!!!

There are many weeks on end, especially in January and February, where it won't get above 0. Last winter during the "Polar Vortex", we bottomed out at -48F (daytime high of -24F), with a windchill of -68F. We've hit a strange cold snap the past few weeks, but it's just practice for later in the winter.

Just reading this sends a cold chill up my spine. It is very rainy, gray and "cold" here (upper 30's). I guess cold is a very subjective thing.... Upper 30's would be balmy when you are dealing with below zero temps.
