The Tacoma was the first truck I've ever had a damper on, honestly I didn't know they existed. First time I lowered it I was like WOW!!!! ? lol

All these years I muscled all my F150 tailgated and now this invention. Only drawback is I now have the upper body look of Erkle.

I opened and closed my undampered (is that a word?) tailgate probably 10 times yesterday. When I went to bed last night, the wife commented how swoll I looked.

I use to look all jacked up too but unfortunately some of these mods have lingering effects.

Yes, you did that! ;)
I'm in/out of the bed of my truck everyday so it was an almost immediate effect. Those that aren't the transformation take a little longer. Your day is coming too! ?

Probably, but because I installed an electric release and tied it to the fob via Forscan, I will probably just get an arthritic thumb knuckle now...

Yeah, I know, having an exposed damper is like leaving the house with your pants on backwards AND the zipper down.
So Terry, I take you've seen Dave leaving his house. :turkey: :bandit:

No way... if your gonna have a damper it’s gotta be out and proud for everyone to see and admire.

I’m going to take a close look at my sons F150 and see if the brackets match up. This might be an easier mod than it looks

You’re a very brave man Rick!

If the mechanism is the same size, first, you have to cut a big hole in your truck for that roller arm ? then, you have to know that there is clearance behind the tailight ? then you need need to know exactly where to mount the ball ? then you need to find the proper ball mount ? then you have to drill a hole in your truck and install a riv-nut ?

You go first. Let me know how it works out and I’ll think about it. ?

Sorry if this has already been answered. I tried to look to see if it has been but I couldn't find anything. Anyways this is probably a stupid question but does anyone know if they make tailgate dampers that are hidden? Like in the F-150 the factory damper is behind the tailight out of sight. Is there an aftermarket damper that acheives this? Or maybe the OEM F-150 damper will work with the ranger tailgate? I doubt it but you never know.

Here is an example of how the OEM F-150 damper works:
Skyler, we are not making fun of you, honest. You are probably wondering what is wrong with these crazy people on this forum? Good natured damper feuding has been a favorite pass time on this forum for a very long time. You just opened the barn door for another session.

Duke probably gave you the most on topic post for your question (Duke's post).
