You’re a very brave man Rick!

If the mechanism is the same size, first, you have to cut a big hole in your truck for that roller arm ? then, you have to know that there is clearance behind the tailight ? then you need need to know exactly where to mount the ball ? then you need to find the proper ball mount ? then you have to drill a hole in your truck and install a riv-nut ?

You go first. Let me know how it works out and I’ll think about it. ?
Seems easier to just eat a bowl of Wheaties in the morning..
or eat some spinach..
or some Geritol.

Why does one need a damper with this tailgate? It is the lightest, easiest to lift and lower tailgate i’ve ever had.
Savvy marketing by the light duty hydraulic cylinder industry.
Technology creep. Why a Roomba? The ol' Kirby too hard to push?

While your observations are correct, there's an section of membership here who got dropped on their heads as babies. Only now are we seeing the results of the early brain damage
Oh no... RP, you clearly misspoke in your last sentence. Surely (and don't call me Shirley) you meant to say "DRAIN BAMMAGE"!!! ?

Sorry if this has already been answered. I tried to look to see if it has been but I couldn't find anything. Anyways this is probably a stupid question but does anyone know if they make tailgate dampers that are hidden? Like in the F-150 the factory damper is behind the tailight out of sight. Is there an aftermarket damper that acheives this? Or maybe the OEM F-150 damper will work with the ranger tailgate? I doubt it but you never know.

Here is an example of how the OEM F-150 damper works:
This would be nice. I think I've seen one that replaces the cord but I'm too lazy to look it up.

Ignoring the usual slew of damper puns..

I got a Kirby that’s like 25 years old now. When the transmission belt went in it the wife says I got to do the vacuuming because she couldn’t do it anymore because it was to “heavy”.

Well within a week had that thing pulled down to the motor, polished up all the metal and put a new drive belt in it with an additional 4 spares! Ha, you think I’m gonna do house chores and change your oil for now on? Pick one! That’s what I thought... I drive a powered vacuum now ?

I know how this "really" works...after you get done with the vacuuming, then you get to change the oil...only you do one every week and the other every 3-6k miles lol

No way... if your gonna have a damper it’s gotta be out and proud for everyone to see and admire.

I hate it when my damper is exposed ... I might spring for a hidden one.
