I drained 36 extra ozs. out of my truck the last time I changed my oil I carefully measured the amount. I change my own oil so I know exactly how much I put in, ! If you can't take the majority of short trips then that should be stated in your manual! I had 26,350 on the truck!Don't want to srart an argument. And I don’t think anyone believes the issue doesn't exist. Yes, fuel delusion is a known issue with all direct injection engines, maybe worse with turbos. Doesn't matter who makes them. What is NOT known is exactly how bad is bad. Does anyone have any hard data on how many engines have died because of it, and how much fuel delusion the had. I believe many of the worst cases on here were eventually tied to bad injectors or HPFP issues. It also seems the the problem, if it is one, gets better once the engine is broken in and the rings properly seated. Its also been proven that that short trips exasperate the problem, winter temps and idling don’t help either. Has anyone looked at how must fuel 2% delution is in 6.2 quarts? Approximately 1.6 onces or 3 tablespoons. Hardly enogh to raise the oil level. And we are worried about 2.8%? I know some peoples is much higher, and they do have an issue. Lets not lump everyone with 3% delution together with the people who have a real issue.
This has become a panic thread and has people checking their oil level daily and making lots of money for Blackstone. We need facts, not a lot of peoples assumptions based on anecdotal experience from history.
